Thank you iOS for loosing the first draught of this
Now that the photos are in place, let's see to the words...
To recap,I paid £16 delivered from SwissKnife and Tool.
To be fair, you couldn't go too far wrong at the money. There are,as advertised,a couple of flaws in the hard coating, but its nothing that a wee bit of hard use wouldn't inflict anyway.
So,what do I think?
Well...
Hmmm....
This is a 'throwing axe' rather than a wood chopper or a tactical 'hawk. It's not terribly weighty, I doubt it would have much practical use beyond chopping kindling. In truth, its a mall ninja toy. I can't comment on its ability as a throwing axe as I don't have anywhere to try it without getting arrested.
There's a sheath supplied, which features a belt loop. I wouldn't want to depend on this if I were in rough country. It's not bad...just not...well,any real use outside of a shopping mall
The cutting edge is sharp! How long it will hold the edge is another question. I suspect it will sharpen easily enough though. The spike would have no use as a striking weapon, and I remain unconvinced as to how it help it spike into a target when thrown.
My personal gripe are the grips. OMG they're poorly executed! There's no stippling or checkering to aid grip on the smooth material. This is bad,but not the worst sin. The grips themselves do not follow the finger indents of the of the shaft. They don't even extend to meet the edge of the shaft. It's a PITA to hold. I reckon even a small chopping exercise will cause blisters in short minutes.
So here's the conclusion. If you'd bought it here

Well, you'd be pretty damn peeved. On the flip side,it's not bad for Sixteen quid. It needs new grips...desperately! Then,it might be suitable foe light camp work, and fun. At some point I'll make the grips. But in short,it's a project, not a finished project. At full price,I could not recommend this product. At all.
So SOG?
Sort your s**t out,damn it!

As a throwing device I might just view it as a "one-use-only" item and not bother to go and pick it up.
Honestly, as a chucky thing it looks like it might work well, but the full price is utterly stupid.
Bring it to the next meet-up and we'll give it a throw.
