Hm, I took 2 years to buy 3 SAKs (OHTrekker, Classic2012 for my SO, Climber as a 2HO EDC) - So I would not see me as a collector, yet. But I would love Victorinox to build their 91mm knives with a 'shield lock' (If I may call it so) and to incorporate the locking bottle opener/SD. Maybe throw in the variable pliers and an in-line Phillips/Universal Wrench layer.

But I fear the mighty V is just feasting on the legacy of the late W  (Oh god, that's terrible prose)

It sure would be interesting to see new designs, so far I have only seen new-branded old designs.(with cosmetic changes)

So far only the 65mm are up.

3 Nail clips (EvoWood, Classic scales and just the nailclippers without the Esquire tools part) and 2 Esquires (Evowood 81 and Executive 81).

I'm still scratching my head on the Executive 81 naming of the Esquire. Why use a name they're already using for the 75mm SAK?

Doesn't make any sense what so ever. :-\

Interesting.  The merging of the two companies' designs has me wondering if I should hold off on any new SAK purchases for the time being in case there is a new design that I will end up wanting   That could be a long wait though.  Either way, I'll be watching to see what comes out.

The Delemont Collection

Yes, I saw that but so far only the 65mm have been officially added to the Vic site and lineup with identifiers and all. The pic is from the Vic CH site new arrivals page. Don0t know what's listed on the US page.

The Delemont Collection

(Image removed from quote.)

In the above image, the new SAK looks like it has more of a textured red plastic than the older Wenger. I like that. It is also missing the raised logo on the side of the scale that the Wenger is sporting. I like that as well.  :D

Just noticed that the Wenger website is completely changed.
No more reference to any knife.

I am awaiting a report from dellasknives (he sells knives on E-Bay, AND, at gunshows in NC).  He went to the SHOTShow this past week.  I am calling him Friday night.

We are TIGHT: I sold him a 1960's Master Craftsman, and we saw each other all the time at gun shows.   We also linked up at SHOTShow 2013 in Vegas last year at the Victorinox booth.

I am sure it will be interesting.

As such, I have PULLED from consideration selling my few Wengers I have: Cigare 704, EVO 57 (that big one like a Tool Chest Plus), Official Issue/Soldier knife, and Air Travel nail clippers...oh, and I will NEVER get rid of the STG-90 knife I have.

Maybe I need to raid, after all, the gunshop in town that has numerous SwissBuck and Wenger knives for sale.

BIG Question: What about the Wenger Giant?  Bergeron Watch-making knife?  OR, the infamous "Toilet Paper" Wenger SAK? (a member of this forum posted a pic of it: has a key to open TP containers in public toilets)???????

Hmmmmm, I wonder if there will be a new Cybertool. The Wenger scissors and Evo scales on a CT34 would be sweet. Along with a locking blade and locking cap lifter.

So they decided to simply re-badge Wenger knives?
Was really thinking it would be a mash up, not simply a re-badgeing.

All I wanted was for them to get rid of Wenger scissors and tweezers. (Why? They aren't as good as the Victorinox counterparts...test them and tell me I'm wrong) and something anything would have been added to the collection. Was really looking forward to something with Wenger's Blackout finish with a pair of Vic scissors.  :( :( :(

Guess 2014 holds nothing for me unless they re-release some retired cellidor colors or make metal scales with scale tools.

A collector I am not...

I'm thinking of buying real Vics before they turn into something less Victorinox-like with this.

If they could make a swisschamp with a locking blade...that'd be great.

Thanks for the info

Well, it looks to me now that one series that is going out after this merger will be the Vic 74mm line. Or if not the whole line (Money Clip) at least the Victorinox Executive model. Well, if there is any sense in this (may not be and two Victorinox Executive models to remain after this).

I think there will be more to be cut. My guesstimate is that for all those new 50 Delemont models there will be at least so many other Victorinox and Wenger models dropped. If not whole lines.
