Thanks guys. My collection has really grown in the year and a half that I have been here. It took me a little while to find but this was a picture of my collection when I first  joined here.

How times have changed. :multi: :D

The fixed blades look almost like Scandi's :)

It's funny how countries so far apart can come up with such similar knife designs :)

Is there a story behind the knife?

Micky, you said Scandis, were they from Scandinavia?

This type of knife is not antique. In fact, a tribe called the 'Ifugaos' living in the Banaue Rice Terraces, still use this knife for game. I was really surprised its on e-bay.    http://cgi.ebay.ph/Authentic-Ifugao-Knife_W0QQitemZ200220653335QQihZ010QQcategoryZ373QQcmdZViewItem

I don't clean or put oil in this knife, It looks more original to let it stay that way.

NutSak, I cant write the story behind this knife, its so gruesome and gross! Joke, just kiddin! They use this for slicing deer and wildpig meat. and also for wood carvings. How, I got this knife? My wife, although not a native, was born there.

Bob, such an amazing photo of one small part of your collection. I actually thought about using the stair-step method too but ended up opting for the easier tabletop shots because I could be lazy and sit down as I set them up.  :)

How did you come by the colored Gerbers? Was it through their website when they were offering the custom service? I really like the yellow/black combo, seems like an excellent outdoors finish.

Below is my collection, as of 5/31/08. Prior to finding this forum my multi "collection" consisted of:
  • BO Charge Ti
  • BO Blast
  • Old Wave
  • New Wave
  • 2 MP 600s

Look what happened.  :-[

Leathermans:

Gerbers:

Others:

SAKs:

Spydercos + 1 SAK I forgot about:

Others; Knives:

Most of my collection is second hand, one of the most enjoyable aspects of collecting is trolling eBay, classifieds forums and dingy shops for good deals or hard to find tools.

The yellow/black is my favorite too. :) I found it on eBay awhile back. Unfortunately I was computer illiterate and completely unaware back when the Build-Your-Own-Gerber program was going on.  :-\

Good eye Gerbermeister!

One of the BO 400's is the T3 model (which only has a tiny T3 logo to differentiate it from the regular BO 400 ::)

And the other Legend? It and a few others were left out of the group photo because I was too embarrassed to admit that I've never taken them out of the package.... :-[

Spoony- nice collection of blue Spydies!  I have a blue Native from way back... I love it- it's one of the best fitting and finished knives I own.
