Thank you! Although, I really would have preferred to win the award for most fishing pictures from South Florida instead...

Day 30:
I got this new little pocket pouch in the mail today. It will be my little Minty Alox's home along with a little Bic, half of a hot glue stick, an Olight i3E EOS, and Oknife tool.

Thanks for the fun, everyone!

MTSAK - I like that little bag.  Looks perfect for that amount of stuff.  And, maybe that bag will keep the mint eating robot away.

Thanks for the woodworking award.

It's smaller than I thought it would be but now I'm restricted to carrying my essentials instead of my essentials plus whatever else I can fit in the pouch.

I'd like the thank my meteorologist...

I'd awlso like to thank Explorer for hosting and posting a link to the badge. Sometimes it's a pain to find them on the big list.

Day 30

Classic handled one last round of mail call.

Overall reflection for the month:

The Classic is a little knife with a big heart. It wasn't a big use month, but it never backed down from the challenge, even when I did push it a little here and there. While it's nice to have a can opener, seven screwdrivers, a wood saw, and a fishscaler on your multitool, the Classic does to everything that a desk jockey like me needs to get through a day. They're also a great cheap, "safe", gateway multitool. I've given tons of them away over the years, then run into the same person toting a Farmer or a Champ or a Wave two months later.

Pleasure riding along with you awl  :salute: I'll see some of you on the Safari. And maybe the Leap (year) challenge. Not participating in that one, but it looks fun.

wasn't sure I could get anyone who would be interested in doing such a minimalistic challenge but you awl really proved me wrong and came up with some amazing uses, photos and carry options.   :tu: :tu:

  :hatsoff:

hats off to everyone who participated in this very challenging challenge!

carrying the classic alox for 30 days made me realize just how handy this little knife can really be. It will go back to live on my keychain as it always does however I don't think I can ever think of it the same after this. knowing that if I ever needed to get by with just the classic well... it's totally possible and something about that makes me feel warm and fuzzy.  :D

i'm definitely looking forward to carrying some larger knives going forward but I will look back on this challenge with fond memories and continue to carry my classic daily albeit just on my keychain.

Did some exploring with Bella today  :D

Thanks again to all you awlsome folks who participated!

🏆 🚂 Train Fixer Award

Thank you!!

Day 30 - Last day....

I thought I was going to give my Classic SD the day off, but I was wrong.  The flat head was the perfect tool to help me get the keycaps off this keyboard so I could disassemble it to replace the rechargeable battery.  I did give it a nice spa bath and a decent buff to get most of the scratches off.  I didn't want to remove all it's battle scars as it's not a shelf queen.  It's a workhorse.

Thanks for hosting this Explorer.  I get a real kick out of doing these minimalist challenges.

Excuse my ignorance but, what's the glue stick for?

Badges, badges, who got the badges?  I haven't seen any on the member's pages yet.  They usually pop up within an hour or two of requests in my extremely limited experience.  Hmmm?
Best wishes.  G

Melt it with the lighter if something needs gluing. Just saw the idea a couple of days ago and stole some from my wife's craft box

Day 30:

The Classic is a go-to, so I often have one on me. Around the house, it does most of the cutting chores, while in EDC, it covers for the fact few of the multitools I carry have scissors.

Alox variants--really easy to lose or forget you're carrying. I cleaned out my pockets a few days back, and found I was, somehow, carrying BOTH smooth Alox variants I had. Heck, because of this my modern Classic SD Alox was MIA. I actually found three Classics I'd misplaced in the house during this challenge.

White scales suck. The back side (since this is an ad knife) is turning blue from just my sweatpants and jeans.

Neck carry works really well for the Classic. It's almost unnoticeable (compared to most of my purpose-built neck knives), and it solves the problem of having to fish around in your pockets for the tiny knife.

I'll still buy a Signature. While I didn't use the pen once during this challenge, using the old-style removable one is not fun.
