How about a group of wounded Soldiers?
These have all given service and have the scars to prove it.
They are all scheduled for some R&R&R and hopefully will be looking and feeling better in the near future.

Cool.  :tu:  I have a '97 Pioneer like yours, but it doesn't have a split/key ring.  Evidently there were many leftover soldier blades from that year.  I've seen several Pioneer-series knives with '97 blades over the years.

Zoidy - You have excelled yourself - once again - in the piccie department

But ...... I am confused
  • Is this really late in the day? Or artificial light? ???
  • What is the surface? Carpet? Dirt? ???
Please reveal all  ;)

PS. Other photos aren't half bad either - Love the tough circle ElCS

Thank you sir.

Pic taken late afternoon in the last rays of the day.
The back round is a piece of pine tree I milled a few years ago.

If you click on the pic it'll take you to my flickr page where you can zoom in and see a bit more detail.

'Bout time I assembled my army and 'Showed my Soldiers'  :salute:

Just one Soldier for each of the major generational changes for me:
  • 1942 - 1908 Wenger Soldier - Fibre handles
  • 1954 - 1951 Vic Soldier - Smaller frame - Fibre handles
  • 1962 - 1961 Wenger Alox Soldier - Red handles with WK stamp and hollow rivet
  • 1972 - 1961 Wenger Alox Soldier - Silver handles with WK stamp plus Swiss Cross
  • 1979 - 1961 Vic Alox Soldier - No WK stamp, Swiss Cross
  • 1995 - 1961 Wenger Alox Soldier - With bail
  • 2005 - 1961 Vic Alox Soldier - Swiss Cross only - no hollow rivet
  • 2012 - 2008 Vic 'new' Soldier - 111mm Trailmaster design
I have got a few others - Like my family's birth-year Soldiers and a couple of old pre 61 ones that I may restore or do something with
And I don't really care if the Soldiers are Wengers or Vics
And I am sure there are other minor or even major variations: eg stamps - I would quite like a 'VICTORIA ELSENER SCHWYZ' tang stamped early Vic alox Soldier; tool widths, PAT stamp etc

However I am happy with my army!!

EDIT: Oops - Just noticed I wrote WC not WK - Corrected :) ;)
