I don't think Bond would carry a multitool. I think he'd carry a custom made by Q (or some Swiss Elf) card with separate highly machined blackened tools in it with screwdriver, lock picks, etc. Added to that, he might carry a nice slim and small custom folder with damascus blade and mokume bolsters.

I really like the new Bond style. It was a reboot of what we've all come to expect, and what frankly became a little tired. My old favorite Bond, and this will not be agreed upon by others no doubt, was Tim Dalton. He had that elegance of Bond, but underneath a savageness that you wouldn't want to screw with. Craig has that even more; he's less elegant right now, as he's the proto-Bond, but he has that savage rather kill you with his bare hands than use a damn gun style. Afterall, Bond was an orphan.

I also remember how people said "oh's no's a blond Bond?!!" and I just laughed, it seems to fit him.

I'm looking forward to a lot less CGI and a lot more real old fashioned special effects and stunts. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to see a less refined, less worldly Bond, and see him develop gradually along the way into what we know him as. On the way he'll probably screw up more than once, and I frankly wouldn't be surprised if we get a movie one of these days where he actually doesn't win the day. I guess to some extent that's partly what we saw in Casino Royale, where somebody managed to defeat him very personally.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if they did some retro Bond and took him back to the Cold War; this asymmetrical world must be hell on secret agents.

Yeah, Die Another Day sucked hard! But, like you said- Casino Royale was VERY good!

I thought that film was pretty good, considering Bond wasn caught and spent 14 months in a N.Korean prison
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

I agree with you on Bond having a card tool. I think just an ordinary swisscard lite would probably be gadgety enough for the movie without any Q improvements.

Daniel Craig is the worst Bond ever.

hmmmmm...  I have to ask, have you ever read the novels?  Daniel Craig may be, arguably, truer to the actual Bond than even Sean Connery.  Please don't forget that James Bond was a character in a novel long before a star in a movie.  He was a dark, rough-edged character.  Nothing even close to the suave Pierce Brosnon, and a world apart from Roger Moore's silly comedy antics.

I doubt that, considering the ratings of Casino Royale, the Bond legacy is going to nosedive anytime soon.

Actually I have read the novels.  All of those by Ian Fleming and both of his official successors, John Gardner and Raymond Benson.  So I am very familiar with the Bond character.  The movies cannot hold a candle to the novels.

Daniel Craig certainly pulled off the "rough edged" part.  Roger Moore was much better as The Saint than he ever was as Bond.  I am one of those die-hards that consider Connery's original portrayal to be the best.  There was sufficient mix of tough and smooth to become the basis of what most have come to expect from Bond.

I may or may not subject myself to another Daniel Craig as James Bond adventure.  Perhaps the script will be better and I will appreciate his work more.  Nonethless, at this moment and until I see something that encourages me differently he remains my pick for worst James Bond ever, one notch below Timothy Dalton.

This is one of those debates that could go on endlessly, I suppose.  At least the rumors about Mel Gibson or Wil Smith getting the role were incorrect.

What I am about to say may be considered offensive by some. It is a joke, but nevertheless, if you are prone to taking offense, please to not read it.

(I wonder if they cast Mel Gibson, they would have a character in the movie called Ms. Sugartits McJew?)

With all the hopped up gadgets that 007 carries, I imagine he would stick with a simple MT. He would carry a SAK Soldier/SI from 1979.
