They cover the whole spectrum , from first class , to complete crap . It all depends on what the vendor specifies , is prepared to pay , and the degree to which he's prepared to stand on faces to enforce the spec .

Sadly , there seems to be a lack of respect for intellectual property , and a superabundance of knock offs .

Just to add, i always prefer a knife made in the manufacturer country. But i have a chinese smith and wesson folder that has been with me for many years, at least 6, has only one blade and opened bottles, corks, cut ropes, branches, etc and still hasnt lost its original black coating.

So as others said there are very good things from china if the manufacturer wants them made like that.
