Nice Carry Lam

One suggestion

I'd like to see you put a small fixed blade or mid to large size folder into your edc

I know you don't need one because the surge has nice oh opening blades.
Its nice to have something to cut the things you WANT and keep the surge ready for the things you HAVE to cut.

I enjoy my knives. I don't need to carry one because I also always have a multitool tool on me.

I carry a endura most often. I keep it clean and razor sharp.  Its almost insane what a razor sharp endura will cut through.
its fun cutting when you know its your edge melting through whatever its cutting through.
I take pride in my knives and what they can do.

I think you may enjoy one also.

I know this is a very unusual approach, I just added a snap off utility knife to my setup.
It is OHO, light as air and stays razor sharp, good for general cutting tasks and fits on side of pouch very well.
I am going give it a few days to see how I like it.

If you like it you may also like the Gerber eab.

I've used the Smurf out if mine.

I carry a razor blade in my Wave nylon sheath and on my sheath I carry my Surge in.  A razor for me is a known tool and can be very discrete when needed to be.  I tend to carry them actually quite a lot and used to carry a box cutter but have delegated it to my Micro pouch.

I've been thinking about switching to a new surge for edc, but I'm thinking I might get more uses if I have a modded sidekick (replaceable bit driver, scissors, tweezers, and t-shank adapter) and a modded crunch (replaceable bit driver, awl and dental hook).  What do you guys think?

In a long run, go with the New Surge as long as you found a way to carry the 12oz comfortably, it has everything you could ask for on a MultiTool.

All its wearable tools are replaceable, saw, file, wire cutter etc.

Here is the snap off knife I added, it was 5.25" long so I sawed it down to 4.25".
It weights less than the Swiss+Tech Utili-Key.

I forgot to mention I used Surge's Bosch saw and file to shorten the knife.
Works well.

Don't forget to add a metal saw for the t-shank adapter in case you need to do a jailbreak :)

Did you know the Crunch already has a fullsize 1/4" hexbitdriver?

Standard bit driver will take any LM bits, but LM bit driver won't take any standard bits.

I'm not entirely sure if it'll be ideal for the flat bits, it might be too deep for them. For hx bits, there's a notch to keep them from sinking into the driver, bit I don't know if that works for the flat ones.

He use a small bolt and nut. He put an 8 ring in between the keys so you can hang them on a carabiner or what have you. He email me a while back, showing me how he made it. Pretty good idea I think. Keeps the keys from making noise and the are more compact.

Kampfer, care to share it here? I think there are a number of folks interested in getting one of those...

Kam is a clever guy I'm not surprised he made his key shackle.  True Utility has one that I use and it's pretty nice IMO, it comes with some metal clips as well that have worked great for me.

I researched on numerous of key organizers available in market, they are expensive and have their limitations.
None can satisfy my needs, because I have a car key and a detachable Utility key i like to incorporate into the setup.

So I decided to make my own, the objectives are ALLCQS (Adaptable, Low-cost, Lightweight, Compact, Quiet & Simple).
I went down to hardware store to pick up a set of stainless steel #8-32 screw and nut, two washers and a sister clip, bolt the keys together, a few drops of super glue on the screw thread at the end. The nut is not going undone itself unless I use pliers.

I am very happy with the end result and I hope you guys will too.
