What do you think of the tools on your SOG
have you had any problems with the quality

Well the idea that the piano springs stop clumping is rot. It’s almost impossible to extract a tool without pulling around its neighbors. But it’s just as well, as it’s hard to get to the nail nicks of the Phillips and large flat. I just grab the whole load (like in the video), select what I want and push the rest back in.

Of the tools, the machining and finish is very good:

V-Cut tool works well on fabric, but one of the blade rivers catches the adjacent tin opener.

Not had a chance to try the tin opener, has a neat small flat on the tip.

Large driver quite a bit smaller than the large flat on the ST300, only slightly bigger than the ST’s medium. Also quite short.

Phillips a decent cast 3-D tool, but mine a little skew and snicks on the bottle opener when deploying.

Bottle opener very well executed. Tapered medium driver means no punctured tops.

The file’s a pretty standard 3-sided affair, but SOG only cut about 2in of the file, leaving the tip blank, but chiseled and squared off as another flat driver (so 4 flats!)

Blades are excellent. Shorter than ST300 but beautifully machined and finished. Would not look out of place standalone on a knife handle. I guess a SOG speciality.

Love the sharp tipped pliers, much more pointy than Leatherman. Deserves a separate post just on comparing the pliers. Also beautifully machined and polished.

Overall, impressed with the tools. They can’t compete with the ST300 for size. They are more Rebar size. But execution is excellent other than some minor quirks that I can live with.

I may do a more comprehensive review if I get a chance.  ;)

My SOG Tomcat is still seeing regular-duty in the line-up:

"Those who do evil to others:  the killers, the rapists, psychos, sadists.  Will come to know me well.  Frank Castle is dead!  Call me . . . The Punisher."

"Out of the night comes a man who saves lives at the risk of his own:
Once a circus performer, an aerialist who refused the net...
Once a cat burglar, a master among jewel thieves...
And now, a professional bodyguard - primitive, savage, in love with danger."  - T.H.E CAT
