A seller at a local auction site has a few SAKs for sale. splico sent me a link to one of them, a Pioneer he found suspicious. Nothing wrong with it at first glance but even though the pic is bad the tang stamp on it looks a bit strange. It looks like only one line.

He'll contact the seller for more info and preferably better pics of the tang. Anybody seen something like it? I know there were a few manufacturers in the past who made ALOX SAKalikes, (Rostnever, and Amefa spring to mind) but I don't remember ever seeing a knock of Pioneer so I doubt it's a knock of. Could be just cause of the bad pic but the stamp looks weird to me.

hmmm... Yeah, as Spork mentions, Hoffritz had a single line stamp (the only one I've seen), but I don't know if I've seen a Hoffritz Pioneer...
