Making the Wingmans blade non-locking , but safe will be a bit of work. It has no backspring so it wont stay open without the lock tab. I guess a Kick or maybe a PST or sideclip might be the better basis for your planned mod.If you succeed with the Wingamn mod, please show us how you did proceed!Edit: On your initial question - My first stop for LM parts would be Metropolicity - He mods and buys them by the dozen...
You do realise that there isn't that much space for the internal tools on the Wingman? It might be easier to put a locking exchanger on the outside where the blade is and carry a perfectly legal SAK separately.Kirky has done a couple of bladeless mods (a Wave and a PST IIRC) and I've done a bladeless Rebar. All perfectly doable.Good luck!
Im in the process of choosing a leatherman to mod to make it a legal edc in the uk. Im planning on going for a wingman with the intention of stopping the blade locking. The only downside to this knife is the file. I love the diamond file so i want to replace the existing one with a blade exchanger and make a small diamond file. This would also be a use for me as id like to make all sorts of useful tools that will just slot into the exchanger, such as drivers and a scalpel blade holder. Any help on locating one would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You could also see if you can source a Charge, and make it thinner, just remove the blades, saw and file together on one side, and on the other side, paste the scales flat against the body. I think Metro did that before, as well...EDIT:http://forum.multitool.or...46589.msg760089#msg760089http://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=38807.0
