Just got a farmer

For quite a while I have read on this forum how good the Farmer is. I hesitated to get one because of the lack of a small blade which I use quite a bit. When Tim announced his sale I could not resist.

Received the knife in 2 days. Tim must have a special deal with the post office. Priority mail speed.

To say I am pleased with the knife would be an understatement.

As expected, with the exception of the saw all the tools are heavier than the 91mm knives. The weight at 3 0z. is only a tad heavier than a Super Tinker. The inner liners are thinner and there are no outer liners. Instead the Alox scales are both outer liner and scale combined which should make for a much stronger, stiffer knife. I thought the awl would be just a simple point, but instead I found it to be a really clever design with reamer edge.

The downside to this knife is, it is so good that where do you go from here? There are different knives, but I doubt better.

Tim sold this knife so cheap that I feel that I stole it, so will have to order other things from him to make up.

I also just got a Farmer today.  My first order from Tim.  I didnt know how nice they were.  I regret that I didnt order a silver one also.

Congrats on the Farmer Kent.    The good news is, now that you have one, you dont really have to go anywhere from here.   You have a great knife!

Carry it for a while and see if you miss anything terribly and go from there.
