Blade Show 2008
on: May 30, 2008, 02:32:21 PM
Well everyone, yours truely is setting out on the road with laptop and camera in hand to get you the most information I can from this years show.  It's about a 4 hour drive from here and I literally don't know what to expect, maybe even a little overwhelmed hehehe. It's all good, for the love of the tool. I am heading out right now, check back in later!

Wooo!    :ahhh

Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with you tomorrow. I'm having a bit of a tiff with my expected compatriot so I may have to roll solo but I am still going.

Just got back.

Being my first knife/tool show I was pretty much like this the whole time.  :o

I saw a lot but spent so much time fondling new knives I didn't end up taking very many pictures. Not a lot of booth babes either but everyone was very friendly and talkative, there was a ton of stuff for sale and I got about 30 pounds of catalogs to look through.

Not too much that is new multi wise that we didn't see at SHOT but Leatherman is adding to their folding knife line.

Pics of the show coming soon.

This was the 4th Blade Show that I've been to.  I walked around the show for a few hours until my back started bothering me.  I did get to see some neat stuff and wished I could have stayed longer.  You could easily spend a couple of days there trying to see everything and talk with all the folks you meet.

BTW folks, I was asked by the boss to check out the Spyderco booth and the Bear and sons booth. Spyderco only had the byrdwrench on display and said they didn't know why they didn't bring a spyder version. Was told they are getting back on track with the USA made ones and even though they are back ordered by like 1,500 pieces they will be available to the public again when they are available.

Bear and Sons had no tools to show what so ever....so no coverage there.

Wanted to see Tool Logic but they did not attend this years Blade Show.

Leatherman did have a beautiful but small booth up, I will post those pics along with thier new modified knife line tomorrow. It's been a long day and I have to be up bright and early to drive an hour and a half to larger hospital than we have around here so I can have an endurance test run among other things. Since being diagnosed with Alpha-1 I was told my lung function is half that of someone my age, before they start treatment they want to make sure the numbers are correct, hence the tests.

Overall my weekend was fun but sucked bad in it's own way, internet problems and my hotel being in the slums of Atlanta was not cool. But all is good and I can sort through all this stuff and get it all up on here. Not alot was NEW at the show but some things to take notice off, most of what I am posting. I thank everyone for understanding that I can not be on here constantly and I will keep everyone posted, keep me in your prayers.

David
