That's what I am thinking!  If you get too many tools on it, you might as well use a MT.  I would keep it to 3-4 layers max, I think!  :D

my perfect setup is a MT a SAK (84,85,91, or 93 mm) and a keychain tool.

I would rather have a great complimentary pair (trio if you count the key chain tool)  than one "do it all" tool,  so to me personally, having pliers on my SAK is not as important as it is to others.  the same is true of a file.

with that said, my technologist is a medium size that is a balance of size and capabilities tailored for my desires and needs.
If I can help, let me know

one of the main reasons I prefer a pair is very simple.

have you ever dropped a tool of any sort over the side of the boat, or into any place where you cannot get it back?

well, I have, the navy showed me how irretrievable an item can become in about 2 seconds.  though I might never have this problem again, the thought haunts me.  I put a death grip on my car keys near sewer grates, and I think that action stems from my navy days

I sort of see the point of people knocking the inline philips driver.  I keep switching between my Technologist/Cyber-Yeoman and my CT34 every couple of days.
Here's my reasons.
The CyberTool 34 is better because:
  • Has the Small Blade
  • Has Pliers
The Technologist/Cyber-Yeoman is better because:
  • Has the Magnifying Glass
  • Is Thinner

I may need to put together some older SAK's and start planning another mod.

I have a CT41 and a CT34, but I always want a mag glass  (I would love a cybertool lite for this reason)

I have a swisschamp, champion, explorer, yeoman - but these all are missing the bit driver

I have a Swisschamp XLT  has the things I need, but is huge!

there are four main things I wanted in this mod

  • mag glass
  • bit driver
  • knife
  • scissors

the inline phillips was not a major need, but a great tool to me to be a filler.

It seems great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ.  That's pretty much the exact list of things I want in my ultimate SAK.
I've always seen the Magnifying Glass paired with the Inline Philips driver, and since the flashlight kinda sucks, I figure this is the best pairing.
As I may have mentioned before, I do miss the dedicated openers layer, and the small blade.  And as much as I love having the Mag glass on it, I don't think it'll be up to the task of emergency firestarting.  For that I keep 2 Fresnel lenses in my wallet.

  • Wooooo!
Very cool custom Detron :tu:  They can become addicting though, because if you're anything like me, your mind may analyze all the minutia of each tool and what you think would work best, even if you've already got the custom you thought would be best.  This is my curse ;)  Even though I love my Yeochamp, I've found I have gone back to an Explorer, and am still trying to think of what my "perfect" 91mm would be.  It never ends :ahhh  And I have this place to thank for that

Anyway, glad you got a custom, and I hope you enjoy it :tu:

So, I knew what I wanted in a SAK, and I finally wanted it bad enough to sacrifice some good SAKs for one Great one.

GigaHz did a great job, and I love this SAK!!
