Ontario Knife?
on: March 06, 2014, 07:37:28 AM
So I don't actually need a knife, but I can get a discount on the knives from the Ontario knife company.  Are there any knives in their line up that would be worth getting?

Rat 1 or Rat 2, XM series folders
Most of the fixed blades are quite decent as well.

Do you own those?  Do you have a favorite one that you use most often or always have on you?

I had, but no longer own a Rat 1.  Well built, sturdy knife with decent steel.

I no longer own it, but only for the reason that it was larger than I needed.

I'm more of a fixed blade kind of guy so I have always loved the Rat 3. Great blade design just wish I could get it in a tool steel.

Haven't owned one just used a buddies for a shortwhile.

I'd go for RAT I and RAT II.

Been looking to get those for a while but others always seem to get bought first...

I have one of their bigger fixed blades and it is a good looking and feeling blade; not the worlds top blade but good value for money, something I can use and sharpen without worrying about its cost.

I was thinking if I got one I would prob end up using it in the kitchen the most, because I don't hike very often or have a real need.  What do you guys think of the black bird?
