Counting all the shipping costs, this one was right up there. :-\

Bob, there are various laws and tricks (such as EU VAT deduction, group discounts etc.) that could get that price down some and shipping will surely be less for EU residents. If there is interest, perhaps we could arrange something here. Anyway, could you PM me the source's contact info? I have this feeling I had when I first saw the SpyderRench and new I was going to get one someday... :D

I admit it has a lot of eye appeal, and big "gee whiz" factor.I've got a gut feeling the Band-Aid people would see their own sales spike if it hit these shores in a big way.

UPDATED the original post of this thread, as apparently the photo links were broken long ago. Also, I evidently erred in calling this tool the Sapper, as it has since been identified as the Biker model.
- Bob

From the bizarre world of Gazprom and Doktor Zhivago comes the latest in Russian multitools. Made by Noks (translation = Knife) Company, the Sapper Biker model does not resemble any multitool ever produced in the West.

Alongside a SOG ParaTool for comparison:

If the Sapper's Biker's strong point is its eye-catching appearance, then user-ergonomics is its weak link. This thing was engineered to maim, not to kill (its owner!) :ahhh The knuckle-munching teeth on the underside of the handle quickly get one's attention, as does the painfully narrow palm-creasing frame and the fang-like awl blade. Obviously the inventer subscribed to the old What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger philosophy. :D

No one can accuse Noks of cheaping out on the features though. This thing is almost Swiss-like in its tool density.  :)

Thanks for the update Bob

Wonder if sLaughterMed ever found out anything else about them for the wiki  He was asking a few months back but don't think many people knew much about them

 :like:

Speaking of that, have you checked the MT wiki out lately Bob?  We worked on it some and cleaned some obsolete code up from an older version and created some pages :tu:

Sadly ive heard nothing more about any of the Noks tools since that post. I asked a couple Russian members at the time, but nothing ever came of it. I even went through the trouble of using Google Translate on several Russian forums, with no luck, as they all seemed to be referencing a single disassembly and review by one individual, which is where much of the added info on the wiki came from.

Bob, if this tool is the Biker, than what is this tool?

Apparently that one is the Biker-2 model, this according to Russian member AdvUser.  :salute:

Made by Noks (translation = Knife)

NOKS means in russian: НОКС - НОжи Конструкции Скрылева
In english: Knives by construction of Skrylev (Igor Skrylev (1956 - 2013) knives and multitools constructor and NOKS company founder).

I know that this is some 7+ year old thread necromancy stuff, but I was online searching for a Russian 6e6 Ratnik Multi tool when I stumbled upon this thread.

J-sews Last picture with the descriptions of the tools is one of the best things I have seen on the internet in weeks.
 :hatsoff:

So much "widget count over function" on this strange tool!    I kind of love it

It was an interesting, although dangerous looking, tool.  Made me think that maybe there had been an illicit relationship between a SOG ToolClip and an Aitor Spanish Army Knife and the Noks was their unholy progeny.
