good on you GLBM on adding variety to the carry, to achieve a Balance:cheers:
and now you've Switched it again  :D

I am still carrying the Spirit like yesterday, but changed the SAK and light for two more tactical-ish (well, they're just black) ones for Tactical Tuesday,
and if yesterday it was coffee to be had, today we're having tea (Apfelstrudel Tea from Germany) to make up for Tea Tuesday too.  :hatsoff:

My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

Thanks, TP!
I got to thinking about my two days off a week right now. I bought soooo many doubles, so I could carry the tools I liked, and rarely carry them. It has been fun Switching it up for a few days.

Nice photo, TP! Enjoy the tea. :hatsoff:

Unwittingly, and I just noticed this; none of my carry today is made in China.
Not really important, but kind of neat that most of it is U.S. made, except the Watch (Japan), SAK(Switzerland), and rings (Mexico). :multi: :climber:

Oddly enough, I am the opposite  :D. Of what I'm carrying, everything is made in China! Only the SAK and my backup Cold Steel are from elsewhere :ahhh and it was not intentional:

- Byrd Cara Cara 2
- RCharlance Black Multitool
- Lansky Blademedic Sharpener (I think )
- Multi Allen Wrench OPT
- 18650 "SWAT" Zoomable Light
- LED Lenser P3
- Two SAKAlikes for grooming, hygiene and small stuff

I am ashamed to admit this, but I bought a second NXT this morning, so I could carry one (OCD thing..haha).
It does carry well and is fairly well executed (aside from splay, but that can be fixed).

no judgements from me, even the humble NXT being the lower grade MT from Gerber,
it's definitely better than any of these cheapos I found scattered around the house,
some of which I daresay have an even bigger and more awkward splay than your NXT  :dunno:

Thanks TP! It is definitely better than the cheap-o no-name tools. But, you and I both know, I have a boat load of the cheapies hidden throughout the house as well.

The splay hasn't bothered me enough to fix it...yet. Time will tell, but I wouldn't grab anything as big with the NXT that I would grab with a Surge or whatever. :ahhh
I love that you can OHO the phillips and scissors on the NXT. You can also OHO the blade with a little practice. And the other tools can be opened one-handed(flip tool over in hand and use one fingernail to pull out the tool, flip tool back and finish extracting the tool with your thumb), because they are spaced well. :)

Nothing wrong with that pocket dump, Valkie.  :)
The Wingman is the tool that started me collecting Leathermans (even though I had a PST and Crunch). And no worries about cash. I stopped putting my wallet in the pocket dump pics, because it is so thin.

My very first Multitool was a knockoff bought me for xmas.
It was in the purest terms......useless.

I used to drool over leatherman tools, but the cost was prohibitive.
I bought my first leatherman about 7 years ago, it was a wave and I was in heaven.
But it was quite heavy, a little bulky and had to be worn on my belt, a problem in Australia.

I bought my first wingman when I was in Canada a few years ago and loved it, small enough to pocket, but functional for nearly everything.
I have a couple now and bought a few for my son and brothers in law.

Agree with you on the wallet, but mine is quite thick, just empty of cash.
I have to carry my licences, and credit cards.
In my industry I need a damn licence for just about everything and you are required to carry them.

WOW

you must have big pockets.

That switch blade would get me arrested in Australia, seriously prohibited over here.
Nice collection though.

I have a small torch, see above, it looks small but has a serious LED and a 4.5 volt battery.
Cant use it for too long though, it gets quite hot after a while.
Bought it in China.

I have a good systen and it has been refiined a bit over the years.
My work carries see two MT sheaths (on for tool and one for bit/blades). Off work carry revolves around pockets. :ahhh
I hope that the international laws are changed one day, but I know the frustration of knife laws, as I lived some years in NYC. :ahhh

Pocket carry goes like this:

MultiTool(bqck left pocket)
2nd MultiTool(hooked on belt lool)
Watch(wrist of course. hehe)
Knife(watch pockwt in jeans)
Lighter(front left shirt pocket w/ smokes)
Light(clipped to inside front left pants pocket with cellphone next to it)
Loupe(it's flat, so front right pocket)
Measure(it's flat, so front right pocket as well)
Pen(front left shirt pocket with smokes and lighter)
Comb(front right pants pocket wih flat loupe and measure)
Wallet(back right pants pocket)
Keys(clipped to belt loop).

It works well, but took years of trial and error. :ahhh

My chiropractor advised me not to use my back pocket for my wallet.
The thickness of the wallet apparently raises one buttock above the other and over time misaligned the hips.
I have a bad back
From riding motorbikes, jumping off cliffs, martial arts (18 years) and generally doing the stupid things guys do.
15 years ago I broke my back.
Lucky for me I was as fit as a Malley bull at the time and the muscles held it enough to prevent serious spinal damage.
But the result is, bad back, no more bikes or martial arts and I'm now FAT.

Seriously though, rethink the wallet
After I stopped carrying mine in my rear pocket some of the pain went away.

Thanks for the advice, Valkie! My back has always been well, as I haven't and don't do anything more than necessary to get by properly. And compounding the lame lifestyle is that I've been fortunate to have not been in any serious accidents. I'm not an adventurous person at all. The only thrill seeking I do is collecting MTs/knives and an occasional hookup. Haha
Camping for me is a tent full of packaged snacks and coke zero.
I do have  an issue with weak connective tissue in my tendons. I work very hard and exercise enough to keep my weight down, but I was just born with weak tendons. As of right now, my right bicep is permanently non-functional and my left Achilles tendon is ruptured 60%.

Anyway, all I was trying to say is, a boring lifestyle can be a good thing, but watch that weight. You know already that a bad back and packing on the pounds is really bad(just a friendly reminder)thing. :ahhh

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depends on how you look at it, I have always been adventurous.
As a kid I was into bush-walking (more bush running) all over the national parks surrounding Sydney.
Spear fishing, Body surfing, diving off cliffs was all great fun and very strenuous.
As I got older it was Aussie rules football, Abb Sailing and water skiing, but I preferred snow skiing when it was winter.
I got in with some mates and had a go at rally driving an old Renault 10, until I rolled it (not my fault, the navigator said easy right, then screamed  "NO Hard Left" a little too late.
I took up martial arts in my late 20s and fought competitively for a few years (I use that term loosely, I want very competitive, best I ever did was 3rd place)
Several motorcycle (and subsequent crashes) were all great fun, my last bike was a Honda 1500cc 6 cylinder which I loved until my vertigo started playing up.
I have a boat now for off shore work and the poor old body cops a real beating smashing into and over waves.

Looking back on it all, at 60 im not too bad
I can still walk (with a limp)
I can still work (and hate it)
I can still do most things, even sinking holes for a fence by hand.

But I can see the next few years getting less and less strenuous.
Rebuilding my bathroom last year was murder, and tiling it killed my knees.

The first time I did it 25 years ago I don't remember it being so hard.

Yep, getting old, getting fat, that's life.

But what a hoot its been.........so far.

I do have  an issue with weak connective tissue in my tendons. I work very hard and exercise enough to keep my weight down, but I was just born with weak tendons. As of right now, my right bicep is permanently non-functional and my left Achilles tendon is ruptured 60%.

Hy, GLBM, another thing we have in common  :D
I have issues and problems with tendons since teen years, and have had to do exercise to strengthen and lengthen them for lots of years  :dunno:

Dem darn tendons still give me trouble occasionally!  :P

Some edgies from my gear/carry, same SAK and Wave than yesterday, an Opinel and a box cutter too
All others are for show

My toys:

I wonder if our excessively heavy EDCs are causing tendon issues?

Sorry to learn you have to deal with the tendon issues as well. A lot of folks don't know that it's easier to deal with broken bones than ruptured tendons. :ahhh

Nice group shot today, TP!

Got really light today. The pocket caddy is great but somewhat large. I traded it for a belt clip, awlso traded the Laggy and Executive for the Compact.

I'm amazed at some of the pocket dumps.

Some beautiful tools and knives.

Some interesting stuff.

I was thinking, What is the motivation for the various accoutrements?

I carry a simple tool because I've always carried one, ever since I was a scout

Keys just seem to grow, (has anyone else noticed how car keys just keep getting bigger?)

A torch, with the LED on offer these days, is invaluable.
Especially when you drop something in the car at night, sooooooo many nooks and crannies.

Watches, wallets, par for the course, but I also carry a change purse.
The coins start filling pockets far too rapidly for me.

A pen is usually helpful, but I use a propelling pencil, easier to use on greasy drawings in the workshop.

tools is what defines us as humans
