Day 30

I have learned two things during this challenge.  I'm pretty good at using my Nanostriker and I need more practice at using my Firefly.

Final fire of the challenge using petroleum jelly infused lint and my Nanostriker.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 30

My biggest take away from this has been that I really rarely need a lighter in my EDC. It mainly just sat in my back pocket, unless I wanted to try starting a fire in the evening. In the end keeping a small Bic lighter in my bag and car like I've always done seems to be the best balance for me.

My second take away is my wife hates me throwing sparks around in the house

Before the challenge,  I did not tend to carry a firestarter.  But I now enjoy having one in my edc, and plan to continue.

Here are the badges. :like:
Can someone please make the top corners transparent?
Otherwise they're good to go.
RP, I'm running a day late, but should be able to help with this once I get to a computer.  The admin are always helpful , so I expect the new badges should be up and ready in next 24 hrs.

Thanks! I made the big one at work, but I can't find the website I used to use, and my laptop is toast. :salute:

🔥DAY 30🔥

this was a fun one  :ahhh
thanks to RP for hosting  :hatsoff:
this challenge made me realize that it's not as easy to start a fire with a mag glass as i thought so its awlways good to carry some backup matches or a bic.

enjoyed seeing everyone's uses and daily carry choices. keeping it simple for the last day with just the mag glass, FX and firebox nano.

That is my experience as well. The mag glass is definitely a last resort. Aside from needing to be starting a fire in the hot sun, it takes a lot of care to make it work. But contingency item is always nice to have.

Day 30

This month went by like a breeze, and before I realized it, it's already day 30!  Being a semi-flashaholic myself, can't help but to get a new Pelican 2350 and it has just arrive in time before the end!

First off, thank you for RP hosting this interesting challenge.  Being in an urban setting and a non-smoker myself, a firestarting tool is not a daily necessity for my EDC rotation.  So this is indeed a great opportunity to get to see everyone's firestarting tool and putting them in use.  I've also used this ooportunity to learn a little bit more about some lesser known lighter and the mechanism behind all these designs.  So thank you, and this challenge is definitely not the same without your contribution and inspiration.

agreed. After all the experience using the mag during this challenge I did get better at it- even in the afternoon it was still possible. But we had so many rainy and cloudy days here it's made me realize how important it is to carry a backup or two!  :ahhh
