Oh I like.  Not a big fan of blacked out blades but this.......   :like:  With the Micarta its a looker.  Love that blade shape too.

Yep, I hear you.  Not usually a fan of black blades either but I think the main reason is to help give the 4v some protection.

Its fairly substantial for a slipjoint,  the micarta is really nice and has quite thick liners.

Leatherman Crater C33TX. Snagged one since they are being discontinued.

My latest find was this grey mag Explorer, i love these since it has greater magnify than newer and little bit longer phillips. This also has hook. Also world logo instead cross. payed 12€ for this

Got my desk, very nice desk, the people who helped accidentally dropped one of the draws so a piece cracked and I had to glue it, thus why it’s sitting over on the side, but once it’s done I’ll be able to fill it and the other deep draw, but I’ll have to get some of my other tools and fill up the center draw since I won’t have my shelving unit, but here it is like 90% done,

It was a rough day, we had to find someone to help get the desk, then we also had someone bringing a car down to our other sons garage to go over for the younger son, all within like 2hrs which turned out crappy, then the kid was in a bad mood the rest of the day/night, dinner wasn’t the best, so I was a little stressed out and spelling wasn’t strong point,,

Not me, but the son got his car! Got his plate and insurance all within 2hrs thanks to mom,, so he took us to lunch, so I guess you can say I did get something a,

On my last day on Florida's Gulf Coast I paid a visit to a store the likes of which simply does not exist in Europe. I had been mildly impressed by a Bass Pro store just outside Miami, but the one in Gulf Coast Center in South Fort Myers exceeds this by quite a margin. Gulf Coast Center is one of those gigantic shopping malls where the stores are so large and far apart that one takes the car and drives several minutes between stores. This Bass Pro fit perfectly.

For the size of the store (including something a little bit unsettling for most Europeans, a well-stocked gun department selling not only common hunting rifles but also AR15s) what I bought was rather small, namely a SOG PowerPint. Quite the nice tool for its size, I decided once I laid eyes on it. Pics may follow soon in dedicated places on this forum. I was also tempted by the Coyote LM Rebar, but I held off after considering I already have 2 Rebars in various degrees of modding.

Well, we just got back from Walmart, so nice being able to just go! But we made sure the kid got a few things for the car, I helped pick him out a tote, so he could put the stuff in, made sure he got jumper cables, a roll of duct tape, a mini can of WD-40, some washer fluid, and they had snow scraper/brushe on sale for what showed $2 but ended up being $1, and of course an air freshener, but earlier I put together a little toolbox I found at a tag sale last year with a few extra tools I had, and a nice big first aid kit which I get through my insurance, so tomorrow we’ll take them out and add them to the tote since it’s raining, and mom will be helping clean it out, we’ll be armoralling, this thing with all sorts of stuff since the older kids got his “fancy” sports car and has to have “the good stuff” so that’s sitting in the garage waiting to be used, :whistle: hey he said we could use it!

Have you considered adding a triangles and flares kit to his tote? A tire pressure gage is awlso essential for every glove box, in my opinion...sometimes the old-school way is the best way!

Good call.  I also think a flashlight/headlamp is essential as well.  I've included a safety vest in my kids cars.  My youngest recently stalled on a very busy street and she did exactly as she was taught.  I was so proud.  No emergency lights on the car so a flashing light or something to make the car visible is really important.  Those triangles and flares come is real handy.

I'm still slightly horrified a collapsible reflective triangle isn't standard required safety equipment for cars in the US. (Score one for most European countries in that respect, Spain even requires two IIRC). Sets of three (std issue for trucks I believe) can be had - for I want to say 15 bucks? - at your nearest AutoZone or similar.

I know road flares are quite common too in the US, and cheap to boot. They've never become popular in Europe. I speculate this may be due to fire concerns near accident scenes with ruptured fuel tanks... but if you avoid these they can be a good warning in the dark.

For emergencies, amber LED flashers you can stick on the (steel sheet) roof and powered from a cig lighter plug are nice too, but do check the law in your state, not all allow these.

I didn’t see any thing at the store, I know I a bunch of reflectors from the bikes I stripped when I made the recumbent trike, so I’m sure I could make something, the tire gage was on my mind but I forgot, in the toolbox I threw in a little like 12 led 3aaa flashlight, not to bad, funny thing is some how him and I got paint on it back in the day so he was smiling, and I also threw in a package of glow sticks, although I should probably get others, after his car is done at the shop then I’ll have him pick up a quart of oil, I had him wait until they changed it out so his brother could let us know what he put in, heck maybe he’ll give him an extra :dunno: and antifreeze and power steering fluid, toss it all in the tote and just leave it in the back, I mean heck my tote had a 50gal bag so it could be made into a rain coat, a very cheap foam sled, ABSOLUTELY perfect for getting under the car put the shiny side down in winter and slide right under, summer time shiny side up so you could slide on it, plus it was foam and it didn’t hurt as much and it rolled up, great for like $2! Also threw in a small hand towel in his, I always had a pack, but just threw one in for him, along with a couple packs of individual alcohol hand wipes, it’s not the best of setups/kits but it’s his first, and now that he has a car, when they do garage sales in the fall we can actually hit every one rather then just walk a few blocks and who know what he might find to build his kit up? Personally I’m still shocked on the wheels, normally for a smaller car the wheels are only 13 or 14s but this actually has 16s! Heck his brothers jeep only has 15s!
