After umming and ahhing over which MT to get for EDC for a whie, I finally settled on a LM Wingman over a Gerber Dime, and it feels like I made the right choice! The Wingman is my go to for EDC carry now and I don't regret getting it at all!

Still waiting for my Wingman, or at least a response from member asb here...two months already since the trade, but I haven't gotten news from his package or the man himself,

Two months! Sounds like you've been had. I would call him out on the forum if I were you. 


Just checked and his last active date was February 2nd so hes been around. Just avoiding you it seems.

Just got another old school sheath for my BO ST300. I now have one for both my ST300's   :)

So much better than the crappy bonded leather sheaths they make now.

I finally bit the bullet and got myself a Vic Recruit.  It seems to be a combination  of just enough tools to be useful, but not too many to be cumbersome.  I had been trying a Gerber Suspension for a while but I don't like having things that heavy in my pockets.  I'm also not a fan of sheath carry either.

Don't know where to start to celan, repair and restore this one... :facepalm:











Really gunked up, dirt, rust, gummy substances and very gritty action
Worst of all the stuff above: incredible wiggle and play, handles are both loose and move from the axis/pivot (like a pendulum) by themselves with minimal force

Any tips, recommendations or opinions?

That thing has seen some serious use, but with some cleaning and fine tuning it will still serve you for a lifetime.  :tu:

I guess it's beyond "worn and used" to contact Victorinox for a warranty repair? Anybody have experience sending Spirits to them for repair?

I just got a very pleasant surprise - what I thought was a copy of a Schrade ST1 looks very much like it is an early prototype now that I have it in hand to check more carefully.  I'm very pleased  :D

It has what appear to be hand made pliers (laminated), and the components are either made from scratch or modified tools from other MTs (one is labelled Leatherman,another is labelled Taiwan, and all the nail nicks are hand made, and there are leftovers of the original nail nicks.  I believe the seller bought some tools from the Schrade factory closedown sale ( I also bought a pre-production ST1 with flush plier pivots from the same seller).
