We’re suppose to get some printed pics delivered sometime?
A couple family pics, a couple of the son and his gf, but I also made a cute one from like 9yrs ago of me and my ex-step-mother (my only family)

I've been wanting one of these forever. Probably among the worst MTs ever made. The early CK&T was good, but the later version is awful. Just what I wanted. :D

Nice GLBM.  :like:

I see they’re owned by Fiskars and this is basicallly an original Miltiplier?

Thanks, Max!

Kind of. They are far cheaper, made overseas(before higher quality tools were being produced in China), and lower quality in many ways.

A few notable quality cuts:
Pliers are less rugged and have no adjustable pivot.
Rivets in tool pivots instead of screws.
Cheaper fit and finish.
Tools/blades less defined.
Metal is much thinner(on later CK&T).
Slides and lock buttons on pliers are poorly finished and do not function quite as well.

They are mainly a collector's tool, because nobody in their right mind would pick the CK&T over a Gerber Multi-Plier.

This is very true(for the later, low quality item).

Indeed. The early CK&T is quite functional.

My first wave+ just came in the mail. So far i really like it and i can see this potentially becoming my new work carry. But before that happens, i need to figure out how to get the pliers loosened up. These are the stiffest of any multitool i have owned. Anyone have any advice?

 :iagree: with W.

Better tight when new and loosen later than loose when new and sloppy later. :)

Good find  :tu:

But be careful with that Recoil, the pliers can deploy with some force !

i hope so, but im not sure i will be able to use it to get to that point. I have to use both hands to use the pliers and its so stiff the handles try to fold up when opening. I think this one will end up in the junk drawer

It needs to go back to Leatherman..IMO.
Explain the issue and they'll send you another one. Probably won't have the same issue.

You could try applying some thin penetrating oil to the plier pivot (the side that moves) and working the pliers open and close to see if it loosens up.  If it doesn't then it is time to use LM's excellent warranty.

You actually want to try working in ‘dry’ first, to build up some friction to wear the pivot a little faster. Get the pivot warm and then you know it’s wearing a little. In cases like this, friction is your friend. It will take longer to break in if it’s oiled.  :pok:

So these arrived today...

An assortment of those annoying plastic retainers that hold bumpers and other stuff on modern cars, which always breaks when you try to get them off without the correct tool. Well here’s a box full of them and the little tool to get them off...

I think they are made in China..

Are those Jewish stars?

Uhmm...

Anyway; this arrived too...

Plastic fantastic indeed, but it seems to get consistent readings, so it should do the job.

I like the illuminated screen as well.

Not bad for £12

...and +1 more post count
