Fresnel lenses

Love those things, but you really need some sort of cover for them if you keep them in your wallet. Great tool and backup fire starter. Not to mention an incredibly fun toy to use with kids.

Reading :)

I have vision problems which can't be fully corrected by glasses (some of the problems are brainstem related). Magnifying things helps one or both of my eyes settle on the target, depending on health at the time. One of these in the wallet is better than the mag glass on a 91mm Vic. They do damage easily though, hence the spares.

They are actually in thin clear wallets as photographed, which will keep the scratches at bay for a little while. I also have a more durable slip for them from an older lens that's a bit battered.

- A thread gauge....and 3 pointy metal things that I have no idea what are for, but they came with it.

- A hidden antenna for the radio in my Jeep

- A mastaplasta patch, to fix the giant hole in my drivers seat.

Angle gauges by the look of it. The thread gauges will help you match pitch, and the angle gauges to match thread form (Whitworth, ISO, etc). Anything written on them?

They are actually “Center Gauges” according to the ad where I bought them from.

Apparently they are used when you work on a lathe.

Ha! I've worked in and around machine shops all my life, and never seen them. I'd just run a clock (DTI) down the tool shank to make sure it's perpendicular :D, but then again, we weren't hand grinding our own tools.

Cool set.  What do you think of the Mini? I found the regular and super Bear Jaws to be quite nice tools.

Thank you, Clown!

The Mini Jaws feels the most like a real full-size pliers based multitool to me. Not going to bend steel bars, but nice and precise for fine work. And I like the pliers not being spring loaded. That is fine for larger tools, but I can't stand sprung mini pliers. Just my subjective view though. :)

Yeah me neither, I have never seen or heard of the m before....and I have never seen any mechanists use them either.

...and now I own some for some reason.

I like to "be prepared", so I have the philosophy that it is better to own and not need, than to need and not own.

I will admit that I have a lot of speSmurfpillsed tools and spares that don't get used much (and sometimes not ever), but I'm OK with that.

That's interesting, in my original post "speSmurfpillsed" doesn't attract any attention from the Smurfpills censor, but when someone else quotes it the censor obviously thinks they are trying to advertise some alternate brand pills to help with erectile dysfunction and clamps right down.

But if I quote my own post it doesn't get changed.  Maybe I'm considered to be more trustworthy than MMR ? I don't know, it just seems a bit weird to me   ???

These Wilkins Ti Scales were waiting for me when I returned from the last 2 week trip so I wasted no time switching out a Grip into them!
It is hard to explain how great these are too,I have tried a lot of Grip Scales so far but now I truly understand why these are the "Grail Scale" .
The Grip falls so free from the scales that I think it might be too free?!
Plus they look amazing too!

I've been carrying a Toolzall Pocket Pro (same as Mini Bear Jaws) for about two weeks now, off and on. I love it. And I like it not having sprung pliers as well. Especially when you're working in tight spaces and holding something. The cutters cut almost all small wires without trouble. The tiny clip point blade is good for detail work.  Just wish Bear had done a better job with the drivers. LM makes a great flat Phillips driver on the Style and Squrt--Bear's is a bit rounded.  I just don't know how mine got magnetized. It wasn't that way when I got it. I suspect it happened when I unjammed the electric nail gun.

Very cool. Don't think I've seen the Toolzall 153 before.  :)

Indeed, you ain't kidding, the electromagnetism in those nailers wreaks havoc on SS tools.  :ahhh
Do you have an old tape-head eraser for VHS tapes? I use one to demagnetize multis with great results. If you don't have one, they can be picked up on eBay for cheap and work on all types of steel tools. The technique to demagnetize and magnetize tools takes a little practice, but is well worth it. That is the only easy way I know of to demagnetize MTs.
