Just picked up this Wenger and this Vic. Marlboro Outdoorsman.  Got a good price, but didn't notice a chip in the Marlboro handle until I took the picture.

Nice. :like:

Shame about the chipped scale, but looks like it is 91mm scale shopping time.  :D

Look forward to see your new knife when you get it Max  :tu:

Picked up today. The Stockman design is nice and the blades are really beefy at 2.2mm thick. Back springs are a little weak for my liking. Construction is like a tank...and the finish is a little like one too...

A few minor production flaws, the factory caught the tang on the main blade when sharpening and the back of the sheepfoot is not even. I guess I’m used to that Victorinox Swiss perfection.

I like the stainless construction, brass bolsters/liners and the pinned dymondwood scales. The recessed logo is also a neat detail. I can see how this knife could last a lifetime, I’m just not sure I’d carry it that long.

Very nice, Max! :like:

I love knowing the amount of effort it takes to make a knife with flush-ground springs/liners, hollow ground blades with three different profiles, and wood scales(with inlaid emblem) set between brass bolsters. :dd:

Thanks GLBM. It is a lot of value for less than $50.  :iagree:

IF you want Marlboro scales I think mine came off without damage. You can have them for shipping. They came off my Troubleshooter, which is my perfect Victorinox EDC :)

I just got these!

Case Sodbuster (4.65”) with red delrin handles and a stonewashed chrome vandium (high carbon) blade. I love the way this fits in my hand, and the way it feels. It’s perfectly balanced and has a wonderful, strong SNAP open and closed. It’s just a pleasure to use.

The other is a Boker tech tool 4. Overall I really like this one. I’m very partial to the sodbuster blade shape, and this knife doesn’t disappoint there. The knife is roughly the size of a 91mm SAK, but the blade is enormous compared to the Vic blade. The pliers and scissors are bigger too, and with Wenger style back springs. (Which I prefer). The dangerous and weird serrated rescue blade is the only detriment, and I’ve already got a mod in the works to replace it.

Mostly I’m loving having a SAK-alike with a giant blade and a POCKET CLIP. A big knife is suddenly so useful with the addition of that little clip!

Charles.

Some great finds CC.  :like:

The Böker looks interesting. They do know how to make good blades and attractive designs.

I agree about the Tech Tool. I recently got a Tech Tool 2 and really like the beefy blade (compared to a SAK). I also enjoy that they added different tools and did not just copy whatever you can find on a SAK. As soon as i receive some repair parts for it, i will EDC it  :tu:

Nice!
Mine went walkabout from a job site and I just haven't jelled with the no name replacements due to the large plastic handles.

Your right zoid.  About the only 'reasonable' substitute-standard are the Ideals.  But Klein rules!

Not that I collect per se, but I hadn' got hold of a Gerber multitool yet. (For some reason they haven't caught on the way LM has on this part of the planet.)

...that is, until this package with 'leftovers' arrived from Halifax  :mail:
