feeling sorry for myself lately so did what I normally do when not happy and that is resort to some retail therapy.

its very nice but probably I means I will be living on beans on toast for the foreseeable,

Swisstool Spirit X.  I placed a bid I didn’t expect to win on a used one and actually won.  I don’t know how much it was used, but it looks “like-new”.

Very nice!   I do not understand the “X” part?  Is yours with the standard Vic blade or the serrated Butter blade?

I picked  Butter Blade model and received a couple weeks ago. I am still handling mine like a piece of art.

Looking closer at the website, Aloha is correct.  The “X” denotes a drop point non-serrated blade and “XC” has the serrated (wavy) blade.  This also means that despite being listed as an “X” mine is really an “XC”, which I knew from the pictures and wanted but misunderstood the “X” myself.

I like the butter blade, because I almost always have another knife on me so the serrations add more versatility.

So mine is actually an XC?

Like you SOS, I selected the butter blade because I always have another knife with me and I like the options a serrated blade provides for certain materials.

That maybe why the LM Rebar or SuperTool 300 or WAVE  are my first loves. The Spirit XC is now a trophy tool for those red carpet events .

The Mountaineer came in today  :mail:



Was listed as used, but is actually brand new. The scales have no scratches and as far as I can tell it has still the factory oil on. The scales had some promotion printed on it though, so I put the black G10 on, that were on my climber before.
