As I mentioned on numerous occasions, I've come very close to buying a Gerber 800 MP. While out looking for a good deal, I've found a rather extensive (by local standards) and expensive multitool section at an outdoors equipment store. Seriously. Leatherman Charge went for almost 300 $, Swisstool - for 220, and what I was looking for - 250. That was scary. I talked to the owner and told him I could get five or six similar multis for the same price on eBay. He warned me about the dangers of Internet trading ( ) and we went our separate ways.

Well, today I was there again. The prices for multis dropped by about 10%, if I'm not mistaken. Swisstool is now 200 $ (still wow, but at least they're trying...) and there are no Gerbers to be found, but Suspensions ( ). Leathermans are same as before, though. They even added a Surge (man, that thing is big). Not sure who buys them for these prices...

Feel free to congratulate me on helping liberate poor, neglected multis from the vicious store owner.

Don't hate, he's just setting new standards for the market. If it works we can all sell our collections and retire to the tropics!
