Didn't, alphabetical by subject & numerical order. 30 year should be before A.. oh, I get it, A is for Australia and that comes before anything, 'cept maybe Canada.

Well I've been keeping the OP up to date by tool names alphabetically.      If you are going to update the list why not update the list that is most up to date...

I don't care how they are ordered, just think one should order the longer of two lists if they are going to bother.

Feel free to double check the thread for missed clubs and post an updated arranged list that I can copy to the OP.

Any effort towards making things work better is always appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, I have a thing about crooked pictures on walls too. Used to be a security guard for a museum. God only knows how boring it was to stand there for 4 hours waiting for lunch to go bleed a lizard and eat something with qualudes in it for the next 4 hours. Though did meet a doctor who purposely had a crooked picture and has it glued to the wall as such just to annoy our types.

If it annoyed you enough you could just play strong man and rip it off the wall (and ignore the damage the glue did as it pulled off the wall).  That might show him/her that taunting people for personal amusement is mean and can have consequences.

Sometimes people in a shop with a double door change which door is unlocked but don't change the "Pull/Push this door only" sign so that the door with the sign is locked, and you can only open the door without the sign.  When I'm in a bad mood I am tempted to follow the sign's directive with ALL the force my 120Kg frame can muster (ie quite a lot), and after the lock breaks claim innocently " I thought it was just a bit stiff and needed a decent shove ".

So far my social conditioning has prevented me, but one day when I am in a truly foul mood it might just happen......

Of course, this would make more sense past the title jumble

In terms of locating the appropriate thread for a particular MT this list is significantly more efficient (and therefore better IMO).  But it could be even better if threads for multiple MTs eg Hybrid, Vista;  Kick, Fuse, Blast;  had separate list entries for each individual MT they covered, but I'm not quite concerned enough to do it myself  :pok:  ;)

Hi to all mods and forum members! Could it be possible to include https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,69547.msg1385686.html#msg1385686?; I know it's like a gateway tool, but mine has served well for a light/medium duty one!!!! (And it's a Leatherman   :like:)

It's a great list I am happy I can soon join a lot of the clubs.
I noticed something that's not done yet maybe this can be a fun thing to do.
Most of the leatherman tools have a date stamp on them and therefore we can see how old our tools. We can therefore also see when they start producing the tools. As far as I know the year is known but for a lot of tools the month is not.

For example I have a Leatherman Crunch. I know it came out in 1999. But I can't find which month. Mine is from September (resulting in the beautiful number of 0999) it is possible Leatherman started producing in January 1999 but also September 1999 making mine one of the first. Maybe they even started producing in 1998 before it came out.

My idea is to add your date code to the post you make in the club and make this sort of a thing to ad so we can trace this.

Just an idea of course. But what do you think?

jorritvS,

I like the idea. It may help narrow down the possible first-production month of certain tools that aren't solidly confirmed as when they were first produced. :)

Not all LMs have date codes, but a lot do. The P2/P4 first shipped without dates coding(I have undated example of both in the collection), but starting in April, they started stamping it on the pliers rest in the phillips/flat-head side of the handles.

Nice to hear that you like the idea. The free series is a good example of it. My own also has no date codes but I think it's interesting when they started adding them. A bit like the pst for which there is a hole tread about dating them.

The second P4 I bought has 0419, so I wonder if April was the first month they began the P series dating.

Why would they have started without a date code? Does that make sense to anyone?

Perhaps to indicate a first production run of sorts?

It definitely isn't to identify changes in the manufacturing, because I cannot tell any notable difference between the undated P4 and dated P4. I want to say the pliers rests are stamped a little differently on the dated one, but it isn't drastic by any means.

As a collector, I do like having the undated P2 and P4 for the collection. :gimme:

I only own an undated one but from what I have read there aren't any real changes. Having an undated one is definitely nice for the collection
