Mr Elsener

I've been noticing in threads that questions you guys have, have been answered by a Mr Robert Elsener. Is he a family member of Karl Elsener or is that a very common surname in Switzerland?

I hope this question doesn't appear rude, since it's not really talking about a multitool but someone in particular. I'm just curious.

No Victorinox has stayed in the Elsener family

I'm sure Grant or Dunc will be along to give you a full family history

Carl Elsener III runs the company-he is the grandson of Karl Elsener, the company founder.

I believe Robert is Carl's brother, but I may be mistaken.

I new Robert was Carls brother but didnt know if Carl was the Grandson or Great Grandson of Karl .
If you do a search on youtube for Victorinox theres a couple of videos which feature both of them .

Carl III (Carl Sr.) is 80+, Carl IV (Carl Jr.) is his son, and Robert is definitely/possibly/maybe their brother/uncle/cousin

Yep, that's it. I just saw an article from 2003 that said Carl III was 81. Carl III and Carl IV "hold the reigns" of the company.

Pat is Carl IIIs sister, Carl Jr.'s aunt, and Robert's mother. She was a Red Cross nurse, and that is why there is usually a cross next to her name on the blades!
