Battle Series.
on: March 18, 2014, 12:01:59 PM
I was perusing my photo archives and came across these photos. I thought I would re-share them.

And for the history behind them, off to SAKWiki.

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+Swiss+Alliances+and+Battle+Series

I can recall having to hunt for all of them individually, and being very happy to score them all. It was a hard hunt at that...but with that said, I haven't seen any up for sale on eBay.ca for quite some time. I gather these are now even harder to acquire these days.

These are really, really beautiful knives.  I've owned two of them in the past... once had a dream of getting them all, but decided for the prices they went for I'd rather have other knives.

But honestly, fantastic workmanship on these things.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I dunno... I mean, I can enjoy a nice great collection... I really enjoy the look of a large Alox collection.  But those Battle Knives?  Those a really, really beautiful in my opinion.  Just wonderful works of art.

The battle of Morgarten was the very difficult one to find for me.

Anyone wanna pick one up for (relatively) cheap?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Victorinox-Swiss-Army-knife-Battle-Series-Collectible-Ltd-black-scale-/281285183656?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item417de748a8

From the description:
Quote
Blades have minor scuffs, all other tools in excellent condition. Pocket wear on the black scale handles.

Ugh... I think I feel a little sick to my stomach.  Did someone actually use this as an EDC?  Or even use it at all?

These are nice knives, one of my favorite series of SAKs for sure.  I'm probably one of the few that had one as my EDC for more than a year.  It now sits open on my night stand and actually got some use the other day.

I'm trying to collect a few to complete a second set in the collectors display case, but the prices have been rising a bit again after dropping for a while on ebay.com.
