Bearing in mind I'm in the UK, are you all using your fixed blades for sporting reasons(hunting, fishing etc) or is it work related, and if so in what field and for what?
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

I use mine for all of the above. I am carrying mine now at work and use for the same cutting tasks that I would use any other blade for. Only deference its and fixed blade instead of a folder. And a tad safer. It won't fold on you.

Carrying might not be quite the right word but I'm away from home for a few days and have my new Mora Classic No1 packed with me.

I recently started carrying a small fixed blade on a daily basis is addition to a SAK just to see how it goes and how useful it is. So far so good. I rotate between an Izula, a Benchmade Activator and KnifeKits.com knife I put together a few years ago thats about the same profile as the Izula. All are carried in a KSF Pocono pocket sheath. Today is the Activators turn. :D

Sorry only just saw your post , haven't visited this thread for awhile.

It's a Svord Rabbiters Knife from New Zealand
When Svord first started making knives to sell , a lot of years ago now , they offered what they called a Rabbiters Kit Knife .
You had to fit and shape the handle scales yourself and finish the blade which was very roughly done .
It cost next to nothing and seeing as though I had no money back then it was all I could afford .
This knife has been through a lot with me , and only God knows how many Animals its processed , because I've forgotten .
It holds a wickedly sharp edge , and although Svord maintain that their production methods haven't changed its much better steel than the more modern Svords of which I own a couple . They are good , but this is better .

I hardly ever carry a fixed blade . High quality folders and SAK's do 98% of my cutting . If hiking / hunting/fishing /camping , I carry a G/B hatchet and a small FB in my pack ( along with a folding saw ) .
