This is a Buck Model 116 Caper.I packed this for a walk through the forest,in preparation for turkey season.I reshaped the handle to be far more compact than the original. It rides well and close to the body. The top picture is the current/reshaped handle profile. The second picture is another 116 with factory profile. The last picture illustrates the difference.

Beautiful M8! Use to have one years ago. It was a favorite.
That's gorgeous!I do miss needing to use my fixed blades. I've even thought about wearing them round the house, just to get some use out of them
Nice!!
Breaking boxes down for recycling today
Is that a custom knife?
I made it on a three day course with a knifemaker in his workshop 12 years ago. Sadly, I spent those years keeping it in the original condition, instead of putting it to proper use. The other I made at the same time has seen a fair bit of use, but I do wish I'd put them to use a lot more. I now use both a lot more whenever opportunity arises.
Very nice knife AW. Glad you are putting it to work. You mentioned wearing a fixed blade around the house go for it. You'll may put it to use a lot more than you might think. I always have one on me when around the house. I find I reach for it so much quicker than even my SAK.
