Alex Shunnarah Altoid Can Knife. I'm not sure whether to call this semi-custom or not .While not produced in huge numbers, they made a lot of them; and one place says they're made in China as opposed to the USA. Got it for around $20 through an eBay seller that seems to be a liquidator for knives,  because the design is discontinued. I find the drop point skinner shape coupled with the miniscule size of the knife somewhat inconvenient for all but slitting/skinning type tasks. But, it's one of the strongest little knives I own and 440C holds an edge. When I bought it, I felt like I had made a mistake, but it's slowly changing.

I feel its successor, the Shanghai Shank is much better. Which I don't have, and there are more well known companies with better products for less money. This one is so poorly thought out. First, there was a black paracord wrap that had to be taken off (it wouldn't lock in the sheath with it on), then well, it's a bit fiddly in the hand. They didn't originally come with sheaths either; the seller had these made up for the knives; in order to make them safe to carry.

I ended up carrying my Nimravus today.  I am a big fan of using the knife I am carrying and so I did.  Tactical cooking it was.

Its a slicey knife so it actually worked pretty well for what I did today.  I also get a kick out of using whatever fixed blade I have on me for food prep.

Contego for me today.  I rigged a easy set up to carry it on my belt.  I ran a molle strap or whatever you call them, under the sheath creating a loop at the top.  I then added a belt loop attachment I had to it.  The ranger bands help the set up "grip" my pants a bit so the swinging of the sheath is less.  I think the knife sits perfectly on my belt with little handle sticking up.

The sheath for the Contego is an interesting one.  Its not really meant IMO for belt carry.  I think its more so meant for chest rigs or packs  :dunno:.  The overall length is great however I don't like too much handle sticking up.  Getting jabbed in the ribs or falling or bumping things just adds to me wanting to knife about where it is.  The rubber inner tube ( range band ) do help "grip" or reduce side to side movement.  Its not left handed but thats ok as I can manage with either hand.  From every thing I've seen online the sheath is not a favorite.  The way I have it set up I like it well enough and more importantly I can carry it.   

Just shredded a large wardrobe box.  Knife performed beautifully.
