It's not connected any more. There was the first HEST, which was the RAT one, then as RAT became ESEE, it got a new engraving, and that was it. Pelton separated from ESEE, and ESEE from Pelton, and he started DPX gear, and moved the HEST production to Ontario knife, then to Lionsteel with the folder, and so on.And then he went back to the actual makers, Rowen, so now there is the Rowen Hest sold as the original. Just DPX.
