This is my Becker BK2, not carrying it around as it is simply massive but I did oil it today.  The 1095 "Cro-van" steel is 1/4" thick!  :o  IIRC the knife weighs around 1 lb.

BK2 is a great knife! Looks like you did a mod on the spine.   8)     :tu:        :like:    There are some Becker fans around these parts.

Yes I added a thumb groove to make it easier to control for carving, it has the stainless fastener upgrade and stippled scales sanded smooth to improve the grip.  I stripped the black coating and the tang area under the handle was painted with a clear tough polyurethane wheel paint to prevent rust.  I might sell this knife actually because I rarely use it these days, I was using it for backyard gardening and firewood stuff but really a saw or a axe works better.

Nice! What thickness of leather do you need? I assume rather thin since most of it is wood?

Question for you all.
I've been mulling getting either an ESEE 3 or RAT 3 or both (probably the ESEE). My only concern is that my carry method won't work with this size of knife. I like carrying my fixed blades in my right front pocket and I typically wear five pocket jeans. Does anyone happen to have either of those knives and is willing to throw it in their pocket to see if it'll fit without too much handle sticking out of the pocket?

I've carried a Becker BK11, BK14, and an ESEE Izula in this way quite a lot and love the method and the capabilities of a fixed blade. I'm just concerned that it'll be too long while in its sheath.

Hopefully, somebody will be able to answer you question.  I don't have either one of the knives. Sorry I couldn't be any of help.

This is my Becker BK2, not carrying it around as it is simply massive but I did oil it today.  The 1095 "Cro-van" steel is 1/4" thick!  :o  IIRC the knife weighs around 1 lb.

I'm about to sell my BK2 and BK9, hopefully, unfortunately

Beckers are such absolute users they have no collectible value......for me at least.

Oh man, someday when I'm all growed up I need to make this only my 2nd Gerber knife  :like:

It is really cool but I probably couldn't recommend buying one. If you don't mind used then you can have this one.

Yes and no......

When I bought these I was heavily under the influence of YT and feeling an intense feeling of impending doom, demanding fully equipped BoB's etc etc etc

Never expected all this to mutate into making knives.

I do need money for a proper belt grinder, but that's a lot of cash.  In the meantime I have about 7 production knives that are some of the most expensive, and more importantly completely unused.......

I have a small bucket full of Moras, quite a few chinese folders, these were pocket change relatively speaking, and not a cause for buyer's remorse. My Gecko custom, the Puma White Hunter and a few others were also expensive, but they're collectible knives and my pride & joy.

The users hanging around in the closet feels wrong however.........

Why I'm hesitant to sell is simply the fact that I'm loosing money on basically NIB knives, and knowing how life goes they money from these knives will be gobbled up by some emergency instead of being saved for the grinder

I have however made an undertaking to accept anymore kindnesses off the Forum until I've made a contribution........stay tuned  :D

Here is my RAT3 in its original sheath in Levi front pocket.  The knife in sheath will completely disappear in the pocket when tilted in pocket but prints.

Hope this helps.
