Yeah I really was surprised. Even our #1 spot doesn't have such fat bass.

In all honesty we drive past these lakes weekly, and never thought anything of them, I knew they were stocked with brim and catfish but I didn't know the bass would grow so large.

It's literally 30 yards from the "commons" (the local tourist hot spot) it's like an outdoor mall plus movie theater and BassPro. Yet the lakes obviously aren't that pressured.

Two days ago my daughter turned one year old and today my wife and I are taking her fishing.  It's gonna be a good day to go fishing with my two favorite girls

On a plus side.

The cobia are finally starting to be caught!!

Imagine a giant catfish that strolls along the beach roughly a foot below the surface. It's considered the ULTIMATE sight fishing. They arrive once the water hits 74ish-F. And stay for summer then keep traveling west down the coast of mexico. This is one of the 3 caught so far. 76lbs

Did a bit of offshore fishing Sunday arvo, caught a Port Jackson Shark. Estimated 90-100cm long using 8lb mono and size 4 circle hooks while fishing for King George Whiting. We didn't have a net to land it and they're not good for eating i cut it loose.

We just got six inches of snow yesterday. It's going to be another month or so before I'll be fishing.

And mini tackle box :D, you just never know when you'll happen onto a spot. Theres a hatch in the floor of the Durango's cargo area so I just tossed a short Ugly Stik and a beater reel under there. Now if only I could fit an emergency bike under there
