Hi guys, I love going thru this thread. Lots of ideas. I have a rebar that I bought for the pliers and a new charge tti that I wanted to put them in. After doing the swap I ended up changing them back the way they were. The pliers weren't perfect and the blades wouldn't unlock. I think I'd rather get a charge bit holder for the rebar but I'm not willing to sacrifice the one of my charge lol. Where can I get one cheap (if there is a way)?

sounds like you encountered the overextended pin issue that some of us have run into. ;) are you saying that when the tool was closed, the blades wouldn't open properly? the pin on the safety lock sometimes overextends with the Rebar pliers in there, but you can either grind down the pins to allow clearance or just remove the pin mechanism altogether.

Yes, that's exactly what happened. I didn't want to grind it though since I just got it back from warranty.. It's brand new and I didn't want to mess anything up. lol.

I may have one spare and could trade for the Rebar Phillips if you cover the postage.

Hacking for a friend at work. Old Gerber that he always wanted a pocket clip, so i scavenged a clip off a junk drawer knife. Just used the hole already on the clip, chopped and filed excess and slapped her back together. Not amazing or Purdy, but I don't see too many clips on Gerber MT?. I know this is our LM hacking place, but I'm not familiar with the Gerber forum, or where to find their hacks., so I figured you all might appreciate this.  :D

Rough prototype of my rat tail file attachment. Any ideas?? I'm wanting to use it to sharpen my chain saw. Thinking the top could be a clean out scraper for the bar, and possibly fuel air mix screw driver on a Stihl. Just brainstorming and messing around :D

I find the small bit driver great for cleaning the bar groove etc. What chainsaw do you have?

Its a Stihl 029 super with a 16 in. Bar. I like to run the Stihl full skip chain. Its my only one, but hasn't let me down yet.

I just did this tonight.  A wave with rebar jaws and a awl in place of the flat bit.
