Very cool :like: I still need to get an awl in mine :tu:

I went with a Rebar File over the charge file because it has a much better profile for working with wood specifically. Also the cutting teeth on the thin side of the file are much more aggressive than those on the Charge file. I think this tool nearly covers the all my wood carving needs and EDC blade needs.

I just don't see any tool on the market that can match this. I think the issue is that most multi-tools try to cover too much ground on their toolset. The Vic's are a great example of this.

In opinion the most effective tools are the specialized ones designed to cover a set of tasks for one purpose. The Crunch, The Signal, The MUT, The Raptor, and the Multitasker Series 3 would be good examples of this.

Cheers,
H.G.

I chose the Charge/Wave file because what I use it for  which is to debur metal some times and touch up sharpening on knife blades if need be :tu: the Rebar file is good in it's own right but I like the diamond file just a bit more

I liked the aggressive Rebar file too much to replace it, and I wanted a diamond file too, so I reshaped a Wave’s file and added it to my Rebar to have both  :iagree:

Thanks WS, Steve, Poncho. Files and awls, 2 of the least specific but most useful tools.  :tu:

Thanks gents! .....The new generation LM P2-P4 looks very pretty with a lot of  "male magnetism"  ;) but I still prefer my good old Charge and Wave for EDC

don't lie you be jelly...

Top one is a fishing specific multi-tool. Serrated sheepsfoot blade for general tasks, file for hooks and such. Internal straight blade (kept super sharp) as a food tool and for fillet tasks. Scissors for line tasks, and small driver for separating split rings and reel disassembly. Larger screws can be taken care of  by the Vic Manager I always have on me.

Middle is multi-purpose EDC. I keep the can opener much sharper to be used for opening packages and boxes (saves the main blade).

Bottom is Woodsman/Bushcraft tool for outdoor activities.

Cheers,
H.G.

Not sure if a Wave knife or a Wave/Rebar hybrid type tool  When I sit down to do it I will really have to weigh the plus and minuses of it
