Doing a deal for an unused PSTII. Client wants a clip on the PSTII so put one on mine tonight, and we’ll do a swap later in the week.  :tu:

I’ve done this on a Rebar which was a pain because of the non-flat sides. Quite easy on the PSTII but the new screw was too long (the thread) so had to trim it back (not shown in the pics).

Custom washer made out of Aluminum to center the clip, and slot cut in the frame for the tab, which needed a little trimming to clear the pliers.

Worked out really well. I think the customer will be happy.  :cheers:

Just finished adding the mini razor knife to the abomination OHT, 2 things that shouldn't be on this tool yet the fit perfectly {after lots of grinding and welding, yes welding on a Leatherman}

successful Mod for the day.

I nixed the use of the Moca Tool because I realized that it would damage the scales to put lateral pressure on them. I think the addition of the removable diamond file is huge. Especially since it is now the perfect light multi-tool carry for use with a dedicated folding knife. I also added some Braeon Tape to create a thicker profile, this made the fit much more snug (because its designed for the thicker blade).

I'm now calling this the Micro Surge, it just feels right based on how many options it has. I may be cheating with using a different scissor but the one that comes with it isn't terrible.

Cheers,
H.G.

 Pure Awesomeness Incoming:

Got a lot of pictures of the process of this mod, definitely some words of caution. Will be starting a new thread with full walk though in the mod forum.

Holy fast response batman! I also want to do the scissor mod, replacing the bottle opener. But that is a much much faster mod.

That is a super awesome tool you have going btw. I think you might struggle to do it unless you take material off of the inside of the scales. The thickness of the exchanger is rather high compared to other tools.

At one time it had a flat bit holder in it, then I bit the bullet and shoved the centerdrive in it. And believe me, I'm not opposed to taking material away to have the perfect tool  :D

and now...near multi-tool perfection. Or at least for my purposes.. Full write up of the mod coming next week likely, need some time to sit down and write it up.

Cheers,
H.G.
