Hi all, just figured I'd post my latest Mod attempt. It's an update on my idea for a pocket tool that I can take with me anywhere I go, including the airport. Not wanting to lose the blade, I replaced the standard blade with a scalpel holder. This allows me to remove the blade if I'm traveling. It has the added bonus of not needing to worry about beating up or sharpening the blade as I can just pop on a replacement. I also filed down the scales in width and added a knock to carry tweezers (still need to get a pin in there). I also took a Wave bit driver and ground it down so that with a pivot spacer it fits. I know for the space I could have have just put in 3d Phillips and flat head driver, but since I wear a leatherman tread and can hold 4 additional bits in there I figured it would be a bonus and provide more versatility. To even out the size of the bit driver, I added my bike key and a file. Probably have room for 1 more key but the only one I really use is too long to fit.

It's gotten a little thicc, but I still like the idea of carrying just one small pocket tool that can get the job done. Let me know what you think!

I'm assuming that replacing the freestyle with a skeletool is not an option? I don't have one, but I believe the freestyle is held together with rivets that would need to be drilled out. A quick search doesn't turn up many who have modded the freestyle, although I do remember one person ground off the clip to make it basically a freestyle with a bitdriver: https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/multitool-mods-skeletool-cx.177966/

I need ideas on what else should I add to my squirt mod. I’m thinking to add scissors and a small saw. I know a saw will be useless because it’s goin to be small but I just want to add more tools to it :)l   :climber: I will file down one of the small flat drivers to use it as a tooth pick lol

Would be nice to add the removable T-shank saw tool as you then have some choices on saw blades.  :dunno:

:iagree: a variety of jigsaw blades would be very handy and could be carried around rather easily  by how to implement this would be the trick

I’m thinking to customs make a hook like the one Swiss Army knives have and maybe a serrated blade too!

Here's the mods I have done to a few of my LMs over the years:

On the ST200, I ground off the lock release tabs flush with the handles and I unlock the tools the same way as the original ST by lifting a second tool out 90° and closing them all.  I also ground off the finger notches in the straight screwdriver blade and the Phillips bit to get more reach out of the tools.  You can see the difference with the modified tool on the left vs the stock tool on the right.

On the ST300, I again modified the lock release tabs so they are flush with the handles and  I unlock the tools the same way as the original ST by lifting a second tool out 90° and closing them all.  My keys kept getting stuck in the lock release tabs in my pocket and I had to do something about it.  I also ground the plier head smooth and ground the Phillips bit round so it would access recessed screws like my ST200.  I also ground the small screwdriver bit smaller and thinned out the back of the saw blade.

On the Rebar, I ground the plier head smooth and ground the Phillips bit round so it would access recessed screws like my ST200.  I didn't modify the release tabs on the Rebar because the gap was small enough that my keys didn't get stuck in there.

On my Free P4, I swapped the saw with the serrated blade to access the serrated blade with my right hand.
