I guess my PST qualifies me for this club...

Was a basket case when I got it, scratched and filthy and a snapped off blade.

It's now a PST 1.5 with a serrated blade and all cleaned up and polished.

Any possibility of contracting one of the good gentlemen here to do a mod for me?  I'd very much like to get the rebar head and awl onto my wave..... Lack of skill and tools keeps me

I don't know which country you're in but get hold of Breezy12. I know he does some custom LMs for people. I'm sure there are other guys here but I'm not sure who does them for other people off the top of my head.

I just did the exact same mod you're talking about.

So far, all I have done on the Leatherman side is take my TTi apart, have the scales anodized, and put back together.

but soon I will be doing a head swap with a rebar.
If I can help, let me know

Traded the cap crimpers for much better wire cutters. The original wire cutters got messed up when I cut a treble hook off of a fishing lure.

I realize that anodizing the scales on my Charge TTi is not REALLY a hack, I decided I needed to go all in on this.

so, here is my first Leatherman hack,

it is just a head swap, but I am glad I did it.

Anyone else think it would be cool if they made a SPECIAL set of replaceable 154CM cutters that were wire strippers?

I stayed factory with the inside tools, because I think they are great as is.  I have an awl that I put into the bit adapter when needed, which made my decision very easy.

I pulled out the "blade holder thingy" so the scissors are not modded at all and the tool closes completely

If I can help, let me know

Interesting. So you managed to fit all the tools in the handles still by removing the OH blade lock from the inside of the handles? That's been mentioned a couple of times now. I guess I should give that a go on my Wave instead of grinding tools.

be careful,  if you cannot manage to re-peen the rivet tight enough, your tools on that side will not lock.  I had a hard time of it, because the shape makes it hard to hold the rivet head in tight while peening.  took me an hour to get my lock working again,  but I finally got it

Ok, might just stick to grinding the awl. Way more room for error there.
Thanks.

I'm interested to see how that file holds up with some use.

I made a removable can opener for the Surge but it was too thin and didn't take long to break.

Still using the small bit driver eh.  :pok:  :D

i have faith in the file, but can opener is not going to work.
I don't have anything better to replace the small bit driver yet.

I know members here appreciate MTs more than the general population, but ....

that picture would make a great 11" x 17" portrait oriented framed masterpiece.

+1 but first I would have to swap in a small screwdriver and move the tools around to match.

Pretty basic little mod for me today. Rebar with scissors.

Drops straight in with no mods. Has no trouble closing.

I might have got one or two cunningly adjusted Leathermans ...  ... Well, five actually  >:D

The first one is still going strong. The Leatherman Ripple, or Wave Lite. Basically a Wave with no interior tools, this was built to serve me in my last job, where drivers and small scissors weren't a whole lot of use. If I want to carry a "complete" one, I have my Charge AL which does everything a Wave does, but looks better doing it  :D

Maybe THIS was the first one handed Leatherman  :P

Secondly I have my PST III which is proving quite useful. Fuse drivers, scissors and can opener, with SOG scissors and a serrated blade.

Then there's the holy knifeless trinity of modified Kick, Fuse and Blast :nanadance:

The Roundhouse Kick gains the innards from the Ripple, making it quite a good urban carry tool

The smaller griver got hastily hand ground for use as an awl, and the flat driver is there for light prying, leaving all the driving chores for the two bit drivers

The Blasted Thing is driver heavy, and has a full 1/4" hex driver for awkward fastenings, or for where driver damage may occur (I can use "sacrificial" bits without damaging the tool), and also a pair of scissors

I'm not altogether happy with this one. Could do with a little tweaking to be honest

The Fuse-ilier is the main focal point of my own version of the Bear Grills Survival Pack.

Accompanying it are various other goodies for fire, light and signalling, as well as the Case Scout Jr completing the toolset with a knife, can opener and bottle opener which are absent in the Fuse-ilier. The other tools are an exotac firestarter, metal Clipper lighter, Fox Micro whistle, Nitecore T0 torch and a bit adatpter for the Phillips driver.

What did the hex driver come from?

Had one recently that was too small for the Core so I gave it back.

Never thought to try it with the spare Charge.

It was off a cheapo flair type clone. It doesn't lock up at the moment, needs a bit of Dremel work - but that's a job for ..... whenever I can be bothered .... and not likely to be soon  :D
