I did find a post somewhere by the designer (Rob Robertson I think) who described the way the knife and saw swap and it sounded as safe as any other. The way the sharp sides are cut when you apply pressure to one or the other IF the locks give out (there is a backup) the side that would go to your fingers on the bottom of the handle is always the back of the blade/saw.Maybe I'm just a sucker for gimmicks, but I like the look of it. There were some negative comments about the nylon sheath, the original one was formed plastic I think.Here in Florida, having a usable saw like that could be handy. Otherwise a machete is the norm.
I would definitely be interested in some pictures of the locking mechanism, if you get such a knife (and between us, I find the orange Hunter version way prettier )
