Cocoon Grid-It
on: April 24, 2014, 10:26:59 PM
So, the Cocoon Gird-It Extra Small is finally available again.
10$ is a fair price but shipping is 60$ :ahhh for something they could put into an envelope

So I checked amazon.de (there is no amazon.ch) but its listed as an item that cannot be shipped to Switzerland ???

So, does anyone know a better shop where I could buy one of those.

They look very useful - and available on Amazon.co.uk with free delivery too. I think I'm going to get one - do you want me to get one extra and send it on to you?

I love mine for keeping all the cables organized in the bag.  I may have to get a larger one for all my fiddly bits.

I looked at the Grid-it, thinking it might work for me. Nope, failed- my objects were the size they were supposed to be, not the sizes the Grid-it people guessed at.

My solution was to take a piece of stiff but flexible plastic, in my case a Fisker's fabric cutting mat. Measure a piece of it to fit in the hydration pocket of my pack, then put holes in it on a 1" grid. I can now run shock/bungie cord and paracord through those holes, and tension off with cordlocks and/or figure-9s and/or knots. And this holds your stuff. So I can take one panel and by relaceing to fit the mission at hand, it literally goes from organizing dice, pens and computer gear when I'm gaming with friends, to a blow out kit and magazines when I'm going to the range, to ratchets, a socket rack and wrenches when I"m going to help someone with a project. And not only can you rig it so it really does fit your gear (including molle pouches), it nothing to add velcro to it, or a hanging loop, or if you really want to take your time setting it up, you could rig it to be double sided.
