Got this "mp 600" but, unsure of model; it appeared to be a Multi Lock Scout BUT ... no diamond file, no Fiskars branded scissors, and cutouts instead of nail nicks. I still like it and probably keep it as it is pretty good and almost unused!

Decided to improve my "Classic" MP 600 Bladeless and replaced the file for a more modern (and aggressive) one and, made a plain edged knife  blade out of a paring knife. The knife is enough for peeling fruits and light kitchen duties, opening letters or packages and similar chores which is what I use a multitool blade for. Liking a lot how the etched branding makes it look custom!

I like that Juan!  I'm the same as you.  My blade sees more time opening letters, packages and snacks than anything else.  What's the file from?

Thanks Barry! Nothing extraordinary but better than the one it had; from a new-ish 2018 MP Basic.

I have to say, t miss carrying mine with being in the Driver Challenge.  That bit driver is great, but the 609 feels like an old friend.

That has been my experience, although the earlier ones felt stronger/tougher.

Good to hear!  That's about the vintage of mine.  It's a tough, very usable tool.  Mine has seen a ton of uses and keeps on coming back for more.

I went on a hunt, and found my prey/prize: an OE Multi Lock Scout! After some TLC, I got it looking good (except for some oxidation on file  ).
Simonds diamond sided file-  :tu:
Awl-  :tu:
No-nail nick/pull Phillips-  :tu:
Nail nick on blade and file-  :tu:
Fiskars branded scissors-  :tu:

And here are the OE and, what I believe to be a "clone":

Both are quite nice, and functional.

(But I'm thinking about converting the clone into a "Sportsman"; whatcha all think!?).

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Here to share my newest: an-almost -all-original, hardly-used (I'd say the combo blade and nothing else much) blunt nosed Pro Scout down to the OE Remgrit blade; almost, because of my own stupidity I snapped the spring holder in two trying to "make it perfect" after resharpening and straightening the blade, cleaning and oiling the tool.
But, being desperate and compulsive, decided to cobble up a replacement out of an old and unused stainless water bottle. Shown are the results and, as tested, performs quite well until I can get an OE one.   [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]    [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]     [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
what you all think?
I have one similar (needle nose) I don't  like the original knife blade, it feels so thin and flimsy. What are my options?
New to the forum here btw, hi!

Welcome aboard BigShep!  I'm not the guy to talk to about modding out an MP but they'll be here soon.  It's great to have you here and nice MP!

Welcome BigShep and, let me say that's one nice "hand-me-down" you've there! As for the blade, it might look flimsy but, it is quite good and sturdy for a multi tool knife; perhaps give it a chance?
If after all you'd like to still replace it, your "plug in" options are: newer/later MP blade (Wharncliffe style; thicker, and same choices between combi blade and plain edge ones. Although they're supposed to be the same alloy, does not have the same edge retention as yours), an earlier Multi Lock or same vintage plain edge or fully serrated blade; a Diesel blade might work, as it looks to be the same as in the discontinued DET Sight Tool(ST) model or in the Snap On version. Another option is to go bladeless, as I did a clone of a Bladeless model by replacing the combo blade with a small large flat driver (and the replaceable cutters head; here it is https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,52129.msg2456899.html#msg2456899). After this, I think your options are custom ones. Good luck and again, welcome!
