Welcome BigShep and, let me say that's one nice "hand-me-down" you've there! As for the blade, it might look flimsy but, it is quite good and sturdy for a multi tool knife; perhaps give it a chance?
If after all you'd like to still replace it, your "plug in" options are: newer/later MP blade (Wharncliffe style; thicker, and same choices between combi blade and plain edge ones. Although they're supposed to be the same alloy, does not have the same edge retention as yours), an earlier Multi Lock or same vintage plain edge or fully serrated blade; a Diesel blade might work, as it looks to be the same as in the discontinued DET model or in the Snap On version. Another option is to go bladeless, as I did a clone of a Bladeless model by replacing the combo blade with a small large flat driver (and the replaceable cutters head; here it is https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,52129.msg2456899.html#msg2456899). After this, I think your options are custom ones. Good luck and again, welcome!
Thanks for the info! I will look into the options you mention. I will likely leave it as it is as I usually carry another blade anyway and this one doesn't hurt to leave in it's  original home.

The person who gave me this one was tired of the "flimsy" case (velcro was old). So he didn't  carry it anymore. I was happy to adopt it.

ML600 work EDC. I previously carried a BN gen 2 or 3 original tool and i’ve toyed around with switching this head to a BN as i prefer it and this is usually backed up with a MP400 in the waist pack

My only 600’s. A BN pro scout is being considered though to round out the scissor 600’s

I'm a little afraid to leave thoughtless comments, because... The administrator decided to award me the title of spam for one post, but your couple is not bad! :)

Ha! :)
I apologize to the admins for thinking badly about them for a couple of minutes. SteveC sincere thanks!

From the last one, I took 600 stainless blunt nose on old stamps for only 45$. By the way, the washers from the Chinese counterfeit fit perfectly with the original, only the hole needs to be drilled out a little. Let's see what condition it's in, but from the photo it looks like everything is fine

Nice collection there MpNut; I like them both (one for its rarity, the other for the utility). :tu:

Got another MP 600 for the collection; a DET/EOD. Originally it was going to be a for-parts tool but, the only "bad thing" it had was that it was missing one of the tool lock sliders. Well, having a couple from previous for-parts MP's and since they both shared the same design (FYI/PSA: the Sight Tool shares the one from the Snap-On and Diesel models) ... I think it came out pretty good! :like:

For that, you'll also need a newer gen. Bladeless! :D :pok: :D :pok:

Kidding aside, those are some of the nicest examples of the early ML/MP series.  :like: :like:

Here is my newly modded MP600, dropped file and added Victorinox PX awl to it. Now i may need to drop that u-shank what i earlier added for solid saw and add file back.
Since u-shank holder is thick i should be able to add saw and file to it without those interfere pliers closing.

Tested to remove u-shank holder and add saw and file but it failed since there wasnt enough room for pliers to close. maybe i need to remove serrated blade to file and change pe-plade for combo blade. now i just need to find
u-shank saws to it so i could have regular saw or keep it as it now and live without file on my MP600 (maybe i pair it with VIC Ranger). Now i have one custom saw for Gerber but i have no place to add it since i dont wanna mod my BO MP600.

Looking good Anti!
Perhaps you can move the awl to an inside space and keep the file and regular saw? You can place the saw blade where the exchanger was and have the awl next toit, and then have the cile on the other outside slot.

hmm need to test that one but not sure does awl side rest over file since PX awl has that bended topside.

Actually that worked, awl rest top of file, just needed to remove bottle opener/flathead and add file. Removed u-shank and added saw and that bottle opener/flathead.
Now i have solid saw and file added along other tools.
Thanks for great tip Juan.
