Hi Guys this arrived yesterday from the states (Amazon.com) for a bargain price....



So was having a fondle , and I had happened to read a post a few weeks back about fakes from china, so the lack of a stamped USA logo is a major giveaway , so methinks I have a fake especially as the picture on Amazon had it stamped .



So looked for the other signs that it was a fake , and there were none (sheath quality, metal thickness and other little things mentioned in the post)



So this caught my eye...Would the fact that its made with global materials prevent them from putting the USA stamp on it ?

I can't answer the last question as I have no knowledge on the laws that regulate that,  :think:
and congrats on your new Gerber, if you took a better (non blurry  :P) pic and one with the tools out we'd be able to confirm its authenticity  :salute:

The fake ones are painted. Authentic ones are black oxide coat. Easy way to find out, if yours is a new one, it will stain your hands as the coating will stain every thing when they are new. Yours should be authentic, from what I know, the fake ones comes with the rubbish half serrated blade. Yours is the Wharncliffe blade.
