Merit Badges Must post a step by step pictorial of a knife or MT Mod, done by you that includes changing the main chassis of the tool in a significant way. By machining, welding or cutting original design to accept new tool loads. Requests will be reviewed.

Hey had always wanted to ask, for the regular MPs, there are 2 types of brand stamping. One is just Gerber and the other shows the Logo and multiplier. Do they reflect different time period? I am really confused by them. The ones with the full Logo and multipliers are freaking awesome!


Btw, could u check yours with the awl, any diamond coated file there?

At some point Gerber removed the U.SA. on some of the newer models in the last couple of years. It was replaced with the cool looking MultiPlier with logo. The Sight Tool is the oldest tool I have with that particular stamp. But, the Sight Tool has U.S.A. on it. The other tools with MultiPlier don't have U.S.A. stamped on them. Must have something to do with legislation limiting origination stamping in regards to the percent of parts actually made in the U.S. I didn't acquire any BO600s until more recently, so all of my BO600s have the new stamp.  It is freaking awesome, indeed!
It makes the BO600EOD and BO600ST look even more "Military Tactical". :)

Maybe someone with some more extensive knowledge of MP600 will chime in at some point.
I only have one of the BN600s without replaceable cutters, and it is the one I use the most. Gerber pliers seem to be the most robust on almost any MT.  The replaceable cutters are much weaker than the original style cutters. :(

Must have something to do with legislation limiting origination stamping in regards to the percent of parts actually made in the U.S. I didn't acquire any BO600s until more recently, so all of my BO600s have the new stamp.  It is freaking awesome, indeed!
It makes the BO600EOD and BO600ST look even more "Military Tactical". :)

Maybe someone with some more extensive knowledge of MP600 will chime in at some point.
I only have one of the BN600s without replaceable cutters, and it is the one I use the most. Gerber pliers seem to be the most robust on almost any MT.  The replaceable cutters are much weaker than the original style cutters. :(

I too cannot understand why they refuse to improve on the cutter. They just need to improve that small little part and make it commercially available. Is that really so hard to do....

Definitely would be nice if Gerber worked on it. Hopefully one day. :cheers:
