Nice find with the yellow MP600    :tu:   - Gerber haven't made any of their coloured MP600s for many years now, but they do pop up from time to time.  IIRC there was also Red, Dark Blue, Orange & Dark Green in the "Build your own Gerber" program.  They also made some prototypes in other colours, but I think these never made it to large scale production.  The Tan (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and Camo MP600s did make it to production (but are also uncommon).

  Hi  :salute: Gregozedobe and thanks,

This yellow MP was (until a year ago) available in a shop in my country. Unfortunately not any more. I regret for not buying at least one more piece. I have seen in the forum the other colored MPs and i want them all. But not an easy thing...

 I can understand why they stop the production of these coloured ones. The paints chip so easily!

Nice MP600 colors there guys

I wish Gerber comes out with a black one or BO with that plain brush stainless look on the pivot thingo that holds the handles together...

I personally dont like carrying anything in a sheath on my belt and multitools keep getting sideways in my pocket so i have to add a pocket clip to everything including this 600 i had laying around. Btw Home Depot had a good deal on the 600 basic without the inserts this week... At least near me.

See here for some photos (scroll down).

They come up for sale on evilbay every now and then.  The handles seem to discolour/get dirty when used.

Added a 1998 Yellow factory-painted MP600. :woohoo:
The photos aren't good, because of the reflectivity of the paint, so will update those at some point.
I probably won't buy another one of the Gerber painted tools, as the paint looks too easy to chip(as is reported to chip easily) and they are pretty expensive. :ahhh
Glad to have this one though, as I liked this color combo since I started collecting MTs and saw several other big collector's examples. :)

:like: love all the MPs! They are such amazing but under rated tools. Yeah I feel you about the paint. It feels rubbery and I believe in bad conditions, they can peel... Bad choice of finish. But the snap on one is nice.

Thank you, Sam!

The paint looks pretty good on the one I received, but you can see some chipping in the slide rail. Just from being opened a few times. :ahhh
It would be awesome if Gerber rereleased the yellow MP600 in cerakote with BO pliers & tools(bumblebee special..hehe).

:iagree: have to agree on the under ratedness. The way they are constructed seems to make people, who aren't tool guys, think they are junk. Mainly because of the rattle in the plier head, and of course, the stupid fakes that are everywhere make people think MP600s are junk.

Being in a Asian country, there are probably more fakes than real ones around.. They give Gerber a very bad name.

Very sad that so many people grab one of those fakes, thinking they're real, to show others how crappy Gerber tools are.

I love these MP's, something about the look, feel and that rattle.

Could you tell me exactly where you keep them and when you're not at home >:D

I keep them in the dirty laundry basket, beneath the dirty smelly underwear and socks. :tu:

Thank you for the kind words, badwolf! The 600 is a true workhorse. No bells and whistles. Just a bad-to-the-bone beast of MT burden.

Excellent.  :multi:
The overall feel and noise the OG 600 makes is just a bit better than the newer ones. :)

Yes. I feel ya. Can't pass up a good deal(oh the shame). O.K. I'm not ashamed, because good tools for cheap are awesome. :D
