Anyhow, thank you both, Zoidberg and Sam!

And yes, it would've been used more on the heavier type as it is used to make "flower stalk spikes" for orchids and garden stuff, and 12-16ga single and stranded Cu wires (old house; have both types in varying ga's! :dunno:).

Nice addition, Juan!

The bladeless 600 is a favorite of mine. Paired with a rugged folding knife, it is probably the most reliable MT setup currently made.  :)

The thing is that since now I'm working in a school setting, this is as "rugged" as I can go!

Sorta...I'm becoming "the Therapist that fixes everything", or "the-one-with-the-transformer-thingy"
I used "cautiously" the bladed BO MP600 for almost a year and a half on school equipment, children's w/c or walkers, and for crafts! (Those wharncliffe and sheepsfoot blades excelled over the EAB's).
Still it's good to be able to help once in awhile, when least expected. And those Gerbers help me be that person.

Indeed! Being the one people know they can depend on, for tools and a quick repair, is awesome!

Only time I have no MT on me is when I am sleeping. And even then, one is not far away, in the unlikely even one would be needed in the middle of the night.  :)

So I’ve just got a Bladeless MP600 and I’m really looking forward to the release of the Gerber Straightlace and Wingtip slipjoint knives. They are just what I need to pair with the MP600 for a perfect UK legal EDC. Hope I don’t have to wait too long before they are available

Is it true the current generation of MP600 is only assembled in the US and actually made overseas?

They certainly don’t feel any less quality then they used to. I’m not sure if I’m quiet right but I thought that a certain percentage had to be made in the U.S before they could say it was U.S made

I guess it's probably strange that I've never actually owned a big leatherman. Just the Squirt ES4. But I can't get past the blunt nosed pliers on the MP600. I look at the leatherman and swiss tools out there, and they have plier heads that can only be called "dinky" in comparison. All needle-nosed too. Same with SOG. I need pliers that can move heaven and earth, grip garden hoses, and be the most robust, unbreakable tool that lets me bear down with my full strength without bending or breaking. I need to be able to drop it on pavement several times a week and it still survive unscathed, and operate in mud, sand, dirt, and grime on my motorcycle adventures. I just don't seem anything else as up to the task of a blunt-nosed MP600 -- including the needle-nosed MP600. The jaws are night and day different in their capability.

Charles.

Yep, Charles, the BN 600 is the only tool that fills that criteria. :ahhh

And the thing is I really like my Gerber center drive. I love that driver. But the pliers are needle nosed and don’t open enough. It’s fine for urban carry but on the motorcycle I have a blunt nosed mp600 in the tool roll.

Charles.
