I reached for another Benchmade today, this time the Elishewitz-design Ares:





This might be my favorite Benchmade, and one of my favorite knives. I don't understand why Benchmade discontinued this model.   :cry:

Picked up my first BM folder, 556 in 440C steel.  Bit rough around the edges literally.  Theres a small crack in the plastic scales and the blade was dinged up and dull.  Very dirty and just over all worked hard.  A bit or time on my Lansky and its all good to go.  I ordered a pocket clip from BM.  I flies out now that I added some oil to the pivot.  Never held one and I didn't realize how small this knife was.  Good size for me tho.  Figured if the guy I got it from couldn't destroy it and I think he tried it should be fine in my hands.

Update on the sharpening: A couple of minutes(might have been 5) on a fine diamond stone and some strokes on a strop and it's shaving sharp :like:
Haven't carried it much the last couple of days. It's just to heavy to pocket carry in shorts!

Start a new thread with photos of your slasher/chopper/machete knives in use Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Today, I've paired my Mini-Onslaught with the ST 300:





I wouldn't pocket carry the ST 300 in some shirts, but the Onslaught would do nicely....  :D
