I like that tool but I can't afford to hire an assistant every time I want to use it.

I've been meaning to do a thread on cheap tools for a while as I have a few (more than I care to admit!) and some of them have really interesting concepts.  Maybe this will light a fire under my butt to dig it out and take some pictures....

OK. I don't get it. What exactly is wrong with these multi tools? I have little use for a glass cutter, but I suppose someone out there does.

When you do, I have a great Gerber Multiplier copy you can feature. When I used the Phillips, the driver head rounded off. When I used the knife, it wouldn't cut nylon cord. The pliers handles pinch the heck out of you if you're not careful. The flats slip out of screw heads. Sigh...

The tool has Gerber patents on it. It singlehandedly turned me off of the Multiplier design, despite my friend's swearing they were the greatest invention since sliced cheese.  :twak:

Oddly, I think it may be made by the same guys! I saw that in a Wal-Mart not too long ago. It wasn't a Renegade. You know, I did buy two Bear Jaws rip-offs at Wal-Mart around the same time that have been very good tools. Their Phillips left something to be desired and the file is an abysmal joke, but I put one in my guitar bag and carried one at work (it saved the day several times). While you could probably destroy the copy with a real Bear, it's still a pretty good tool for $5 US.
