Beautiful knife, great price. 
Nice plastic handles:  real Mother-of-pearl has some pink and blue among the sheen and less distinct edges to the swirls.  Likely factory done.
Victorinox has made some over the years with the faux MoP scales, sometimes special order with advertising.  This one is from before 1985 (V in Victorinox same size as other letters).

My guess is plastic from the factory. I think I see a faint advertisement too.
